Some questions about driver commands

I'm putting together a goods session. I notice that every time I use the Couple command the loco slows to 4kph quite a number of wagon lengths before the consist then stop a couple of wagon lengths away then accelerate to 8kph so that when it connects the consist I get an excessive acceleration or a rough handling warning. Is there a way to tweak this command so it is more fluid?

I've used both the Change Direction Command and the Change Train Direction command and, while both change the train direction, neither does anything about the driver position. Is there a way to get the driver at the front of the train each time I reverse heading?

What automated command do people use for decoupling? I read that Decouple does not work in automatic mode and that was certainly borne out during testing. I've tried Decouple number # but I'm starting to thing the numbering is relative to the original configuration of the consist rather than from the loco regardless of the number of runarounds.

TIA

Uncouplez and Uncouplez from work in all versions because it is not looking for engines when you open a new session. Others are looking for consists that may not yet appear on the route so don't work.

Unfortunately the accelerating and ramming into the consist behaviour when using AI to do the coupling has been a persistent problem over several versions of Trainz and despite many complaints about it nothing has been done to fix it.

There are several alternatives. References can be found here:-

Decouple - as you noted this does not work in the Driver Setup Rule
Decouple DLX
Decouple Head N
Decouple Number #
Uncouplez
UncouplezFrom

All are either built-in or available on the DLS.
