Turntable stutters badly

As an example, on the Port Ogden & Northern route, if I place some of the locos I've bought from Jointed Rail, drive them onto the turntable, and try to turn it, it jerks and stutters horribly. But on the same route, if I drive one of the sessions using the loco that comes with the route, the turntable turns very smoothly. Does this happen to anyone else? Is it the high poly count of the JR locos that causes this?

Thanks,
Mark

I had this problem some time ago. For some reason today it does not stutter. Not sure why it did and why it doesn't now. I would like to know, so if anybody has a reason, we want to hear it.. just in case it happens again.

I had a stuttering problem on one of my turntables when I used a very detailed track model and a relatively high-poly locomotive. The stuttering in your case could easily be the high-poly locomotive model. If you turn off shadows does it help?

Very interesting. I turned shadows off and now the turntable is super smooth. Thanks for the tip. Guess I can live without the shadows. I wonder why shadows have such a huge negative impact on performance (actually it was pretty smooth overall, just the turntable was a stuttering, jittery mess).

Thanks,
Mark

There has been a problem with Turntabls for quite some tme. Auran knows about it but has not made it a high enough priority to give it any attention. I have done some extensive testing and discovered that some times it depends on where the camera is focused.

Then, there are some locomotives that go into the turntable and the red arrows disappear! So, no turning!
