Tunnel Problem

I am trying to use the JR MS LT Gray Tunnel that's in Trainz 2012. This tunnel was created by jointed rail and is used on their layout that comes preloaded in the game and looks great on their layout. This being said I know it works for them but I have been totally unable to get it to work. I am reasonably sure it is a problem with my ability to use the content properly and not the content itself. If anyone has some suggestions on how to get this to work I would greatly appreciate it.

What is the problem ... does the tunnel lay a track does ? Does it perferate a mountain ? Does it cut its own terrain at the portals ?

Saying it doesn't work is rather non-descriptive.

Oh ... Cool ... a 4 piece tunnel kit ... I hope it does not deform the terrain, like the big block, snap to grid tunnels ?

Help with JR tunnel spline

that tunnel is basically just a track spline with the tunnel tag set. you have to use a portal on each end, as well as a dighole.

I have tried everything as per the posts here, looked in detail at the way this is done in the Mojave route in TS12 so I understand fully that you require a tunnel portal (i.e. MS Tunnel), JR Tunnel Spline and the dighole. No problems there. My drama is getting the tunnel track spline to snap to the end of any other track spline outside the tunnel so that there are no breaks in the track from one side of the tunnel to the other.

Any help and ideas will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

well, these were made specifically for Mojave, i actually modeled part of the terrain onto the tunnel portals so they match the surroundings.

gawpo50: i am still not really understanding what issue you are having. can you 'show-and-tell' please?

Show & Tell for NorfolkSouthern

First pic shows the track not yet joined, dighole and portal in place.

Second shows my problem. No matter what I do, I can not get the two pieces of track to snap together and form one continuous piece of track.

Speaking of Big Block tunnels, is there a way to keep those from snapping to the grid?

John
You change the height the tunnel config file to -1 (I think) which disables the dighole, (requiring a manually placed dighole).

I usually never even connect tunnel tracks ... I run another track right over top of the tunnel track, and raise it slightly, covering the original tunnel track.

I'm having the same problem. I even went into the Mojave route and selected the same track, and tried to lay my own right near by. They would not join. If I break the joint in the Mojave route, I can't reconnect the track pieces...
