I have an error downloading and installing the patch for TS2009. the error is as goes: Failed to patch Builtin\1.ja, file contents do not match
Failed to apply the patch: 38411_to_40040 Patching aborted. A quick fix would be appreciated greatly. -Nate
Nate,
I'm currently looking for a solution to the problem by doing some patch works of my own. I'll get back to you if I find anything,

Afternoon JC
It's not that. It's that those messages pop up, then the Patch Aborts itself. Without my concent, or my awareness. It just stops. I had this same problem when I first tried this patch. Due to this, I can't use my TRS2009, at all.
Take care,

John,
Actually what it is, is that there are 2 completely seperate threads that you and I have been commenting on:hehe: . I just noticed that myself. Please see the other thread for my response.

Hello all who've posted to this thread,
I've done the steps JCitron's suggested, and my patcher still stops. I've not clicked 'cancel' yet, just in case that was crucial not to do. Would anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Regards,
Dave
The progress bar does not move for a very long time until it's nearly finished. It looks like it has stopped but in most cases it hasn't, cancelling will screw up the patch and probably the existing install.
Can take upwards of an hour or longer, basically touch nothing and let it finish.
If you have a HD activity indicator if it flashing even very slowly then its probably still working or check using task manager for any disk and processor activity.
I leave PC's to patch Trainz overnight, never failed yet.
What operating system are you running?
If you are running Windows Vista/7, I have found that setting jpatchl-w32 and JAConverter to run as administrator can speed up the process and also prevent the 'stopped working' messages (also set trainzutil.exe to run as administrator).
If it is still not doing anything after 1-2 hours, something is going wrong as under normal circumstances, it takes 1 1/2 hours+ depending on how much content is installed.
Also, make sure there is no open for edit content.
All the programs mentioned are in the Bin folder.
