I read somewhere that shipping start somewhere halfway through December. Is this later then the download version?

That's right. It takes about 15 days to replicate the Gold Master disk and to package the manual and DVD ready for shipping. It then takes a few days to ship to the various distributors, and then a few more days to ship out all the orders.
It makes even a 24 hour Digital Download seem fast by comparison doesn't it

Hi,
If one buys the DVD version, can TS2009 still be downloaded so one don't need to wait for the mail to bring it?
I like DVD's as a backup, I like the look of having all the version I have of Trainz up on a shelf to remind me how long I been having this program on my computers and how much fun I have had with it.
I know I can burn it my self, but I still like that feel of a bought DVD and not a "homemade" one.
Mostly curious.

Linda. The problem with downloading is that you wouldn't have your serial number until the box arrives.

Thanks for the answer, when I read that it made so much sense I almost ran away into my hole in shame.
But, I think I will manage to stay above a while longer, the Beta and the earlier versions this fall will help with that.
