TRS12

It's a good idea, in my opinion, to skip through any other version of new softare, thus giving developers more time to polish their product (and save some money for sure).
So, after Windows 98 - skip ME - get XP - skip Vista - get 7.
Trainz 2006 (for example) - skip 2009 (I know I know there were more... who counts! :)) - get 2010 - skip 2012 (guess what) - get ummm... 2014?

:hehe:

Azol,
There's only one thing wrong with your theory! By buying 2010 then waiting till 2014 (4 years) before buying another version of Trainz means that N3V wouldn't have any Trainz revenue coming in for 4 years !!!
If that was the case, N3V would either go broke, or decide it's wasn't worth continuing to develope Trainz and cease all work on it, like MS did (MSTS2)...

We wouldn't want to see that, would we ???

I think I prefer Albert Einsteins "theory of relativity" rather than your theory !!! - :hehe: - Happy Trainzing...

Cheers, Mac...

Ill be interested to see how Multiplayer pans out, I'd hope that they would allow for closed sessions with third party content, I try and avoid DLS content with how unreliable it has become if you dont have a FCT.
Havn't yet tried it in 10, cant give up my compatibility mode quite yet.

TS12 Standard Edition Confirmed

I just posted this in one of the other forums, if your interested.

Guys,
Not sure if any of you check the Trainz Facebook page, but I did today. So reading through the comments I have found out that TS12 Standard Edition has been confirmed for a Mid April release with a digital download or retail version, and cost being around $65.00 (approximately). Click link below to check it out! Good news guys!!!!!

T12 Multiplayer.

Can you use it as a normal version without multi-player activated?
Just build routes & run trains if your not into multi-player?

Yes. In the same way that you don't have to use Surveyor if you just want to drive, and don't have to use a diesel loco if you're just into steam.

G'day!

I have absolutely no intention of buying TS2012! Reason: The lack of ANY new Australian content. The last built-in new Australian content was in TRS2006. So far NOTHING at all has come forward. It's all Northern Hemisphere crap. There is far to much of it anyway. :n: Think of New Zealand! Is there 9467 results for N.Z? No. Is there 9467 results for U.S? Yes! There is far to much Yank content... You need to think about other countries. It's not like Europe and the US are the only ones to have railways. What about Africa? :( Hardly any content at all for those poor guys. Any South American content? Rarely. Come on N3V, do us Southerns a favour!

Cheers! :)

Jake.

You really think the included routes are THAT good to make this an issue? I agree with you that more South of the Equator routes should be made and included in releases, but if they are going to be the quality of some of the Northern routes that have been in released versions, then I wouldn't wish that on you!:D

But several African Speedtrees where included in TS2010 - at least I remeber seeing the Banobo tree there. So nothing is really stopping you from making an African line. I actually have a thought about doing one myself later since that would be as far from my European narrow gauge I could come... and I like elephants.

I'm also bothered by another puzzling point. Auran has been touting for some time that their new Speed Freekz are more realistic. Yet, in the screen shots that they chose to show us in their promotional material, I see no Speed Freekz featured in any screenies. I think there are a few in the background, well hidden and out of view.

Perhaps they ain't as good as they have claimed.

And, I agree with Euphod. With the new routes that are included in 2012, the package for me isn't worth more than $1.79 US. The routes included in 2010 were pretty awful, and the ones coming in 2012 appear no better.

Or perhaps you're not very familiar with what a SpeedTree looks like, and failed to notice that out of the fifteen screenshots on the TS12 promo, twelve of them show SpeedTree.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I personally thought that some of the TS2010 routes were amazing. TS12 takes that one step further- they're all amazing. I think the promo screenshots are fairly indicative of this.

cheers,

chris

Totally agree Chris, I think the new routes will be awesome, and I will definitely be getting TS12 - just not the collectors edition as don't have that much money to spare!

Some being the operative word, not every.

I dont know about the TS2010 routes because I dont have it but I am sure atleast one of the TS12 routes will be of great qualityand that is the Mojave Sub becaues it is by JointedRail and they pride themselves on high quality. I will be getting TS12, but like ajleske said not the collectors edition because I dont have that much money I dont need for diesel fuel.

Oh please! Don't you think everyone that's ever had a route included in a Trainz release have prided themselves on high quality? It's a matter of personal taste that decides if a buyer likes a route or not, no one is going to let a route be published if they think it's low quality.
