If you download: http://www.gaurc.us/index_files/software.htm, and SAVE it to your PC Downloads ... open the Paintshed download by Double L Clicki cant find a paint shed that works can you help me find it from that bin thing that comes with 2006
Partner....I have been there and done that. 2004 will open up just fine, you can select the path to 2006 just fine, and it will save just fine. However, itIf you download: http://www.gaurc.us/index_files/software.htm, and SAVE it to your PC Downloads ... open the Paintshed download by Double L Click
Run the setup.exe that is saved in your PC downloads ... select to install the TRS2004 Paintshed in Auran/TRS2006/bin.
To find that "bin" file loaction ... R click on the TRS2006 desktop icon ... open file loction ... open the TRS2006 file, inside it is a sub folder called: "bin" ... inside of "bin", that is where your TRS2004 Paintshed Launcher should be placed. Disregaurd the factory TRS2006 Paintshed icon and file, (which is usually broken, as it has missing Lang=US files, and is missing the Paintshed DLL)
Install, or drag and drop the TRS2004 Paintshed installation, in your Auran/TRS2006/bin file.
Paintshed will not work in 09/10 versions.
If you open Pantshed ... and R click on the Trainz Paint Shed page logo (at the top L of the page), and then select: "Return To Interface" ... you can always change the size of the Paintshed screen resolution to the larger size: resolution=1024x768
P.S. Goodluck getting any answers from any of the "apparently non existant" forum admins on this or any other question. So far, I am batting .000Partner....I have been there and done that. 2004 will open up just fine, you can select the path to 2006 just fine, and it will save just fine. However, it
"WILL NOT" show up "ANYWHERE" in 2006. I have searched these "forums(?)" until I have cramps in my typing fingers, and nobody has an answer, or nobody gives a damn...one of the two.
Thanks, but I have been there and done that too. I think the problem lies in .net framework somehow. I know I should be on windows 7, instead of that crappy vista 64, but I live in a third world country (i.e. Blacksburg, SC), and even though I have had the upgrade dvd's for months....I saw "you need to update everything, and there are some "small" downloads....and with dial-up...well need I say more? Anyway, i digress. The problem is not getting the thing to run....it does, and does so without a hitch. It JUST WILL NOT ACTUALLY SAVE THE RESKINNED TEMPLATE....committed, or otherwise. If you know of an answer to the .network thing...I would sure love to hear it. What really burns me up is the fact that the program says 2.0 needs to be installed. I have 3.5 for Christ's sake. Besides, the 2.0 is right there on the disc, and when I try to install it...it says it is already installed!!! I just don't get it...I hear about blue screens, and now freeze-ups from you, and I have yet to see any of this. The paintshed runs smoothly, and even shows it saving....but I have searched everywhere in the damn database....and it is just not there. The rest of the program runs flawlessly, is totally patched,To use Paintshed in TRS2006, you must use Content Manager. The reason the error appears (normally) is because it should only be launched through the Content Manager in TRS2006.
It's simple enough to create a new Paintshed asset using CMP in TRS2006.
1.Click the Paintshed Templates tab.
2.Select the one you want to use.
3.Right-click the template, choose Edit, then click New Paintshed Asset.
Be aware though that TRS2006 Paintshed is a bit unreliable and may freeze frequently.
To edit a previously-created Paintshed asset (if you created it):
1.Use the search facility to select the asset you want to edit.
2.Right-click the asset, choose Edit, then click Edit in Paintshed.
Remember, after creating an asset in Paintshed, you must commit it to the TAD for it to appear in Trainz.
