So in this mornings email, I got a Trianz newsletter. (yes it was spelled that way) I didn't open it cause many, if not most, emails with wrong spelling are phishing. Did I miss something important.

Well, that didn't work well. I now cannot get into Trainz Plus after applying the update via the automatic updater, I now receive a "TRS22.exe System Error".
The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

Nice work guys. This really sux.

It was genuine and you could provide N3V with feedback saying Trainz is awful but apart from that not much in it.

Cheerio John
Thanks John, but I don't think Trainz is awful, but I wasn't sure about Trianz so...:D Since it is genuine, I'll just retrieve it from the trash and read it.

Just wait until you create a bit of content then get told they've changed what is an error once more and it all needs to be repaired.

That isn't a Trainz related file. It is a windows file. Google it and re-download it from Microsoft. I find it hard to believe that N3V is removing windows files with their install. Maybe a windows update got you.

It has nothing to do with N3V other than that they require the VC C++ 2017 libraries to run the program. There are many reasons why this occurs including registry issues on the PC. The fact that some people have no issues while others do, points to system issues and perhaps Windows updates. The problem is there are so many possible variables that can cause this, it really is difficult to tell. I jumped the gun in another related thread when I said it's an updates issue, but I may not be fully off the mark.

Sorry, no. Trainz launcher started fine before I initiated this "update" - from the Trainz launcher. It started fine and now NOTHING works.

Have you attempted to perform the latest upgrade? I have downloaded the offending DLL and it still doesn't work. Was it successful for you? I blame Microsoft for a lot of things, but this isn't one of their problems.

Yes, my copies (2) all updated fine. Of course, I use Win 7 and not Win 10 or Win 11. I scanned my computer and that file is not present on it. So it is clear that N3V is not installing the VC C++ 2017 libraries. I know many programs automatically install such libraries without even checking if they are already installed. I just check and I have many versions of Microsoft Visual C++ libraries installed with the latest being C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.36.32532 and C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x86) - 14.36.32532 installed on 8/1/2023. Do you have a System Restore point created before the update attempt? If it isn't too old maybe restoring it will fix the problem.

This is a Trainz issue. I just re-installed an older version of Trainz, went through the upgrade steps until I got to the latest update (from Friday). Everything works until I applied the latest update.

This is a bug in the update process. I PAID for this product to work, not to work on the product I've already paid for. I don't work as one of their developers. I won't be applying the new update until they respond to my support ticket.

Thanks for your input.
