Trees and Grass Vs FPS

I am in the process of UPGRADING my video card. I'm expecting a drastic improvement

Don't count on it! I recently went from a 7600GT 256mb to a 8800GTS OC 640mb for no fps gain. Nil - zip - nuffink.

reason - my Intel 6300 dual core was already throwing everything the graphics engine could produce at the old card, the faster card was redundant on a ten year-old graphics engine.....

Dermmy,

OH NO !!! I think we have the same CPU !! :'(:'(

E6300 is that slow ?!!!??? @#$%^ *&^%$ !@#$

I'm ordering the NV 9600 super clocked . . . If I get the same result . . . I'm building a new computer. It might take me a few monthe to get the necessary pieces but . . . what else can we do !!?? :(

SIGH . . .

Somebody mentioned recently that if you had several large routes in Driver it would have a negative effect on the others vis a vis loading times>I deleted most routes and it did seem to improve loading of my main route.

lewisner,

Thanks . . . I'm glad someone appreciates my method of madness :hehe:

My newest addition to the route . . . these would be BLAHH without trees and shrubs . . . and grass.

Check out the "Kit-bashed Industry : show and tell" Thread in the Screen Shot category, more pictures there . . . if you're interested.

Hey Edion I post my Screenies in the UK Screenshots thread.Somebody pointed out yesterday that 7 FPS wasn"t a good rate, but I"m modelling a real place so if something WAS there it HAS to be there! I recently dusted off my MSTS and had a look at it again; admittedly the FPS are good , but the only UK route is the Settle and Carlisle which has a lot of colour but little in the way of detail.Keep up the good work..
