Trainz Tuner

Yes i did and my dad assured me yes we do have it....

Now i get the feeling i should go back and check:o .

Anthony

Hmmm i downloaded the latest [on the Java site] version of java and its still not loading up:confused: .

Was just about to say that. It's a great pity because some maps really benefit from a wider view. Get a cheap copy of TRS2004 from somewhere and check it out.

Ok don't worry ive just been informed it won't work because im running Trianz 06.

Maybe you can do the same thing as trainz tuner without trainz tuner. What trainz tuner does is add a line in the trainzoption.txt file:
-Zfar=(enter the distance here) example -Zfar=1600

I have trainz tuner and TRS2004 and I am not sure that TRS2006 recognizes this command but you can try.

Yea i have a copy of 2004 but i prefer 2006 since CMP is easier for me than whatever program 2004 uses:hehe: .

Hmmm ill try add that tag line , Do i just paste it at the very bottom of the config or does it need a specific area?

Trainz tuner placed that line at the bottom. I guess just place it on the next available line. I caution you to start with 1400 or less and increase the number until it bogs your system down. Draw distance can challenge your system's limits.

Hmmm i just found the trainzoptions thing.

is it susposed to be this small

"-DepthBits=24
-StencilBits=8
-fullscreen
-Jet=bin
-cabinfov=65
-driverfov=55
-DefaultAutoMip=none
"

You'd think if it was options for trainz it would be bigger:confused: .

ok i just added -Zfar=1600 to the bottom of the list like told but it did nothing in trainz , I even chaged it to 10000 and it was still vanishing just infront.

Thanks for the help

Anthony

1. Trainz Tuner works with 04, 06 and TC.

2. Trainz Tuner does indeed add a line to Trainzoptions, but if that was all it did it would not be necessary to write a program, would it! TT also messes with the basic code to allow the trainzoptions entry to work.

So Anthony's problem remains unresolved.

I assume you located your Trainz install folder for TT when you ran it first...

Andy :)

There seems to be more than one version of Java kicking around and if you go to the Sun site it's not immediately clear which files you need to download.

I forget where I got my version from now but can confirm Trainz Tuner performs perfectly with TRS2006 and I've extended my draw distance out to a sublime 2.5km!

It's very shaky ground doing that, unless you can find out and contact the author of the program. It may be on one of the other related sites though.
