Hello Everyone,

We have the next update to the Content Creators update. This update includes a few more tweaks to the TCCP Export process as well as several bug fixes. A Mac build is also now available on the Trainz Plus Beta stream

Change log: (125735 to 125920)
  • TCCP Description no longer required on TCCP Export Window
  • TCCP Description will be locked after package creation (can be updated via TCCP website)
  • Closure of TCCP window no longer causes description error
  • Several MPS TCCP Export tweaks
  • TCCP Export Window will now refresh and list logs after Package Upload
  • Fix: Print Screen hot key
  • Fix: Height data loss for inserting spline points and cloning splines
  • Fix: Filters in progress will now reflect and show assets in progress
  • Fix: Misc MPS issues

Known issues:
  • This build lacks precache shaders. Stuttering and small freezes during first loads of routes is to be expected as well as longer initial load times. 'Compiling Shaders' can be seen top of the screen during initial runs and slow performance is to be expected during this process.
  • Assertion Errors are enabled for this build. Trainz will pause until Assertion Errors are closed. Users can select Continue and Ignore Errors. (Reporting when these occur with bugs will help with troubleshooting)
  • MPS is currently supported for this build - however support will be limited, and may be terminated without notice.
  • DBR Window is not displayed immediately after update. Note: This is an intended change.
  • DLC Content will report "Failed to download precached data" - this error can be ignored and resolved by clicking on retry

Key Features:
  • Filter Palette
  • S20 Bulk Replace
  • TCCP Route Export
Filter Palette:
The Asset Filter Palette allows the Surveyor 2.0 user to designate which assets respond to tool execution (eg. placement or painting) and other commands. This is useful to allow editing of certain object types in the world without accidentally modifying other nearby-but-unrelated objects. This palette is also used for S20 Bulk Replace

Filter Palette Filter options:
  • Filter Disabled - Filter can be edited but has no effect. The assets listed on the Filter Palette can be used for S20 Bulk Replace without impacting the Asset Palette
  • Filter List - The Asset Palette is restricted to showing the matching assets specified on the Filter Palette
  • Filter Selection - In addition to Filter List, only the enabled assets can be selected in the 3D world instance
  • Filter Visibility - In addition to Filter Selection, only the assets enabled in the Filter Palette will appear visible in the 3D world instance. The rest will be made invisible and be deselected if previously selected.
S20 Bulk Replace:
Bulk Replace Filtered Assets is a new tool for S20. This tool is to be used in conjunction with the Filter Palette. This tool can be used to bulk replace both assets and ground textures.
To use this tool follow these steps while in Surveyor 2.0:
  1. From the Windows Menu, open the Filter Palette
  2. In the Filter Palette, search for the assets you want to be replace and ensure only those assets are toggled
  3. In the Asset Palette, select the asset you wish to be used to replace the assets from step 2
  4. Right click on the assets/texture you selected from step 3.
  5. Select "Bulk Replace Filtered Assets"
** IMPORTANT NOTE ** Highlighting an asset on the Filter Palette does not impact Bulk Replace - Only assets toggled! Be sure you only have the assets you wish replaced toggled on in the Filter Palette.

Route Export:
This is a new tool that will prepare a route for TCCP submission. It can be used on both local routes, and MPS Routes, as long as the user is the route owner, and the route is not payware.
  • "Publish Route to TCCP..." Can be found under the Sharing Menu
  • Can be used to export MPS Routes in addition to local routes
  • New N3V Generic Log services
Useful tips:
  • Filter Visibility only works on assets - it will not work for ground textures
  • Some instances have parents, and can not be made visible unless their parent is - such as trackside objects requiring track
  • CTRL + Shift + A can be used to select all assets in the filter list, and toggling on/off one of these, will change all to on/off
  • TCCP Upload requires an account with the EULA accepted on TCCP
  • The TCCP Project window will populate the route's details. It does not automatically add any sessions. Sessions will be required to be added to the Project window manually
  • Keep the Filter Palette docked above the Asset Palette, will look and behave similar to how the Asset Palette behaved prior the changes.

Change log: (125409 to 125735)
  • Filter Palette defaults to Filter List when opened
  • Asset Palettes filter categories relocated to Filter Palette
  • 'Preset' filter category has been returned to Filter Palette
  • 'Custom' filter category has been removed from Filter Palette
  • Toggle Boxes artwork update
  • Localisation for TCCP Export Window
  • Fix: Trackside objects relocating with insert spline point
  • Fix: Asset Palette listing empty while Filter Palette disabled
  • Fix: MPS Random Object Rotation desync
  • Fix: Eyedropper tool selecting asset with different filter category was selected
  • Fix: Del key not working in description field (TCCP Window)
Change Log: (123794 to 125409)
  • Edit Route Detail: SD/HD option - Found in the Edit Route settings, a route owner can limit the type of edits made in a route. Able to be set and used in MPS Routes as well as local. SD will limit all edits, including HD edits at SD limits.
  • Select in Filter Palette - New option found in assets contextual menu. Opens the Filter palette and highlights the asset under custom filter.
  • Bulk Replace Filtered Assets - New option found right clicking an asset on the Asset Palette - to be used in conjunction with Filter Palette
  • Filter Palette - New palette found in the Windows Menu
  • Publish Route to TCCP - New option found in Sharing Menu for TCCP Route export
  • Show Logs List - New Logs found under Developer options on the Trainz Launcher
  • DirectX12 (Beta) - Option Removed
  • New Build Version 5.5
  • Misc. Bug Fixes

REMINDER:

Thanks for those tips, especially the first one. I was puzzling over how to do that.

TY Laurence was quick to install

TCCP
That is probably nice for 2 or 3 people that make payware routes
what if you don't agree with the EULA? (50% is for us. I stopped reading..)

What we really need is something to overcome the .CDP limit
You introduced HD which makes routes 10x as large.
Export as tzarc or plain zipping and easy get those back would be a solution

Bulk Asset Replace:
Still the old tool in S1 is easier and user friendly to use
it offers on which layer and 3 choices, selected area , 1 board, all boards
and we need Bulk rename, example: Junction 12345 --> w12345
Still no tunnel or bridge replace...
The most important Bulk Asset Replace is replacing an "unknown"
whether an orange scenery box, or a dashed missing spline.
The missing spline representation = = = I do not see it in the last few builds.
Ctrl Shift A, somehow does not work on this PC

Please finish:
Phys-x, S2.0, HD, TLR1

Please work on:
TLR-passenger scheduling,
ALL Interfaces, hire someone please
Good night mode including a moon and stars
Better sound system and DX12
Rain on cab windows, rainbow, skyboxes
Animated passengers that are not dark at night
Point lights
Raytracing (even better path-tracing)
route height and rotation (90 deg steps only) when merging
Content Manager and viewer updates
Easy restore backups and "Use older version" for unknowns.
Easy removal of Ghost trains and unknown trains

Good luck developing
greetings GM

Just a couple of points:-

TCCP

Its more than 2 or 3 and when the TCCP system is finished the work of creating DLC Payware routes should be a great deal easier so the numbers will probably increase.

By "50% is for us" I presume that you mean that the payware creator gets 50% of the sale price? It is all relative - in all my years of writing textbooks the most I ever got was 10-12% of the sale price per book and that was from a major international publisher so 50% would be "pure luxury".

Ctrl Shift A is working perfectly on my PC. Perhaps some other app on your PC is intercepting the keystokes?
The Bulk Asset Replace is a beta WIP.

beautiful

Like most services / products - if you don't agree with something in the EULA then you don't use it - plain and simple and you look for another one that's similar to what you where looking at.

N3V and the content creator like myself will receive 50% of whatever price the end user will pay from the Trainz store (Google, Apple, and Steam however take their precentages before N3V takes theirs - got this info from a few people that deal with these platforms).
However you'll have to factor in the precent of taxes you'll have to set aside to pay your country (or you should anyway).

I'm still waiting for something similar to the cdp files that can handle tzarc files than what we have currently...

Cheers

Taxes for me from the income I make from N3V is currently 25% but that might increase thanks to politics.
Sure it might not sound bad for the income but with the prices all increasing its a lot

Cheers

Bulk Update Replace is still borked. I reported this, they asked some questions and I sent them a video. I didn't get any more feedback as if the problem has gone on the pile of other things to work on.

Try this:

Place a bunch of tracks down parallel.

Place a single track of the same kind a bit of a distance away.

Using in Selected Area, select the single track set aside and change that to something else.

The other tracks get updated as well.

Undo by pressing CTRL-Z to bring the tracks back to the original. This saves time so you don't have to place more track down unless you want to.

Select the ground, not even on a spline point next to the parallel tracks. This will change the tracks!

This issue also affects roads. I didn't see this with objects but it could be doing that too.

The S2.0 Bulk Update/Replace is currently an "all or nothing" process - the selected asset(s) will be replaced throughout the entire route and not just within a set marquee area.

You can use the Free Move or Fine Adjustment tools to select multiple copies of an object (or multiple different objects) in a smaller or local area and use the object context menu and a selected asset in the Asset Palette to replace the highlighted objects.

I know that, but it doesn't help when in Classic Surveyor, and you need to select a single track alongside others to change from pristine sparkly clean mainline to a rusty siding. Not everyone can use the latest and greatest.

Besides unfortunately, I can't use S20 due to the interface text being too small. To be blunt, I can't see SHIT with the microscopic grey text on dark backgrounds. Until N3V discontinues developing software exclusively with 12-year-olds with perfect vision, and actually does something for us older folks, I have to stick with the old Classic Surveyor until the day that disappears.

Anyone else having problems with build 125920 causing a crash to desktop when running in driver mode. For a while I thought it was my computer going bad, but build 123794 runs OK.

I haven't seen any CTDs while driving, Paul. I do have a number for red bug errors though related to scripts for interiors and TRC road crossings.

I reinstalled the program and then did an EDR. I think this solved the crash issue. I ran one of the "problem" routes for over an hour and so far so good.

I'm using build 125920. It's too soon to give the green light on this series of updates which fixes the confused AI drivers: stopping, backup, and other random adventures. But I will at this point at least show a yellow light. AI driven trains seem to be behaving much better and for the most part go where you want them to go. A few hiccups, but a few extra track marks seem to fix these issues to AI's satisfaction.

Still not getting the bulk replace to work properly. For example, when I tried to replace some speed boards it also replaced some signals with speed boards. Perhaps I don't understand the fine points in making bulk replace work.

I don't know how you attempted the bulk replace but I just tried it with some of my speed boards and it worked perfectly. Only the ones I selected were replaced.
  1. In the Filter Palette select (tick box on) the speed board(s) you want to replace
  2. In the Assets Palette highlight the asset (only one can be selected) to be used for the replacement
  3. Right click on the asset in the Asset Palette and select Bulk Update/Replace
Using the Filter Palette will take a bit of mastering but once you have the hang of it. Use the filter drop down box, object icons and the search text box (all will be visible when the small arrowhead is clicked) to narrow down the search
  1. Ctrl + A will select (highlight) all the assets listed
  2. While they are all highlighted a left click on any one of the tick boxes will toggle them all off while another click with toggle them all on again.
  3. When they are all toggled off left click on an asset name to cancel the highlighting
  4. Then left click on each empty tick box to toggle it on to select that/those asset(s)
Once you have all the assets to be replaced ticked in the Filter Palette, the filter control drop down box can be set to Filter Disabled to free up the Asset Palette search controls.

In the Assets Palette type in a search text to narrow down the list of assets then select (highlight) the asset to be used as the replacement.
