Trainz platinum edition errors?

Bought trainz platinum edition, since it screwed up most of my old 2019 routes, because unable to plot route.
I started to build a new route in platinum, same story unable to plot route, missing levers, any one has a suggestion, or am i the only one with this issue?

Make sure you have downloaded any necessary content using the Content Store. Hint: Do one route at a time they seem to install better that way.

Once installed, do a database repair.

Already did that John, but your answer is really appreciated, Database repair done a few times. had no effect on the plot route issue.. deleted the switches (although they had visible levers) replaced them, but no luck.. didn't check the bought routes, since i only use my own routes.

Anything in Open for edit? Revert to original and anything locally modified that should have been builtin, again revert to original, same with anything in Faulty, often view errors and warnings or revert to original sorts it.

Thank you Malc, tried your suggestion, but it failed here.. looking further. Is there a certain way to use the switch from surveyour and driver and back? In between save? It confuse me a bit to see whats happening since everything seems to be different as i use to work on my routes?

To quickly switch between Driver and Surveyor (in Platinum Edition only) open the Tools menu. The two options "Driver mode" and "Surveyor mode" will be shown - the current mode will be ticked. Click on the other mode to switch.

When the switch is made the "Pause" function will be ON - pause is now active in both modes. Press "P" or select "Pause" from the Tools menu to unpause.

Saving works just as it always has in Driver (the current "Game" will be saved) and in Surveyor (the current Route and/or Session will be saved).

The previous method of switching - Exit Driver and Exit Surveyor from the Main menu still works.

Thanks Pware, i understand that saving when switching is automatic? I already did found the switch button to driver and surveyor, just wondered when i edit some things, and switch to driver, is saving done? Or do i need to save manual before switching? I bought platinum just for that switch mode, the rest i already had. Must say like the switch mode, but it's not clear to me if it saves the game after edits automatically..

As far as I know you have to manually save (I always do) - but I never considered the possibility that the save might be automatic. I must try it some time.

Likewise, I was skeptical that such a thing could possibly work and while I am still not 100% convinced that it will be without "issues", I am impressed with what I have seen. It has saved me much time and effort.

EDIT: I just ran a simple test and the answer is that there is NO automatic save when you switch from Surveyor back to Driver. Any edits you create will be present in the resumed Driver Game but they will not become a permanent part of the route. To make the edits "stick' you have to perform a manual save in Surveyor before making the switch back to Driver - unless of course I have missed something.

It will prompt on exiting to save if you have altered anything, if you check open for edit you will see there is a route or session in there that clears when you save or exit without saving.

I always save in surveyor mode before switching to driver, just need to make sure if you are editing the route and not a session you save route and not session.

It really does save a lot of time and looks very flawless I thank you for taking the time to answer me, have to figure out if the saves are automatic myself, but in the mean time save it manually on my routes. Thanks again for your time!

In the test I just ran (see EDIT in my post above) there was no prompt to save after I added a scenery assets and then switched back to Driver. The new scenery asset was present in the running Driver game but not when I reloaded the Route and Session.

I always save in surveyor mode before switching to driver, just need to make sure if you are editing the route and not a session you save route and not session.

Ditto. Old habits are hard to break.

If you open a session for edit and do some work you need to save before you go to driver.
Once you go to driver trains in the session if moved will not be in the start position when you first opened it. It is best to exit from driver without saving the session if you want to keep your train start positions. Save only the route or save session with a different name if you want to return to the point you leave.

pware did you add that asset to the route or session layer? If the route layer it should appear in the reloaded route but not if added to the session layer.

Indeed old habits are hard to break thanks for the test and your answers Guy's, now i have to figure out how to repair my unwilling splines with the missing levers, since a replace didn't work for me.
Would be lovely to get my 8 routes build in 2019 get to work.. Have nice day!

It was added in a Session layer but when the Session was reloaded into Surveyor it was not present. Since it was not saved then I would not have expected it to have appeared.
