Trainz Map

I have successfully replaced all single track on my route using Trainz Map.

When I attempt to replace twin track the Track Properties box has the heading "MULTIPLE RAIL".
The "Current Kuid" is for single track.
The "Replace with" box is greyed out.
The "Change All Occurences" is greyed out.

Despite going through the Trainz Map instructions, and having yet another unsuccessful search of the Forum, I have failed to make progress.

Any advice on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, in anticipation.

Alan.

Just come across the following in a piece by RPearson in Jan. 2007:-

The easiest is TrainzMap with SP1 - works directly - you don't have to move any map files in or out. One drawback is it doesn't handle bridge type track (bridges, tunnels or double track).

If this is the case, and it still applies, I might have a long task ahead of me.

Thanks. Alan.

I would like to replace my network with new track as well. I would like to know if industry object tracks will be changed as well? Typically, when you place an industry, there will be a standard track. This changes when you connect custom track to it. Does TrainzMap do this? I have industries scattered all along my 200+ miles of track and it would be quite a chore breaking up all the connecting splines.

edit--

ps. im on trs06sp1

I have a bit of a habit of downloading nice layouts and then promptly changing the track on them; this is no reflection on the creator just my personal preference for old wooden track and steam engines. I usually use Trainz ObjectZ but I also have Trainz Map. The thing is, any double track can only be replaced by other double track (or bridges!). This means I have to manually delete the double track and install two lengths of single track in its place. Tedious I know.

In fact creators should not be using double track for the simple reason that both sides of the double track go in the same direction for Trainz purposes whereas double track using two single tracks are placed in the direction of traffic making life easier for the creator (placing signals etc) and for the session builder (which way the locos and consists face) not to mention the poor old AI! :hehe:

My 2 cents' worth... :p

Sorry for the necro-post.I recently got around to try trainz Maps v1.1.0(freeware version) as I wanted to do a private mod of the Tehachapi route from TPR by changing the track used to the set Low MP-Track thats used in the McCall Yard route from Check Rail also change most of the signals to the Searchlight Signals by Norfolk Southern 37.I was able to replace most of the track but the one built-in track which is the following: USA 1_track_concrete < -1:101038 > refuses to be changed at all and the one other track is not shown in the app? Any help please? Is there an app that can change the kuid to another one like the kuid replace feature in TRS2010?Thanks.

Forgot to mention that I have the same problem with Trainz Map just like nin the first post and I am using TRS2004 SP4.

Thanks.

You can not replace multitrack splines using TrainzMap, only single tracks.

If a track is grayed out, possibly the trainzbuild line tag in the confg file is higher than your trainzbuild, and needs to be backdated

The track I am trying to replace is built-in to TRS2004 SP4 as I had mentioned in my first post in this thread and is grayed out. :(
