3Ds MAX will be my demise
G'day!

I just heard the news! Trainz is going multiplayer!:clap:But I have one concern. Multiplayer function is only in Trainz 2010... :( Now I've tried TS2010, it was riddled with bugs for me. Running TS2009 is hard enough. Would Auran be able to add this Multiplayer function as a patch or something for TS2009 users? But apart from that, AWESOME WORK AURAN!  :D  :Y: :udrool:

Cheers! :)

Jake.

The Beta is only for TS2010 users - that doesn't even mean it will be released as an upgrade for 2010. It's quite possible that it will actually form part of a new product altogether...

I don't see why they can't make it work for trainz 2009 and 2010 just need to make a patch for both versions

Could they run them apart from each other so people with trainz 2009 can play with other trainz 2009 and people with trainz 2010 can play with other trainz 2010 could they do that if they wanted to?

I just got the news! AWESOME WORK AURAN!!:Y::clap::Y::clap::Y::clap:

Your fianly lissening to us?:hehe:

(No?) DR

Wait they seriously are going Multiplayer? Thats amazng news!!! Yea about having 2010... I doubt more than half of the comunity can run it let alone owns it =/... Aruan still isnt making smart decisions...

Just my humble, but to me this smacks of the reality of a warehouse full of copies of 2010 more than anything else! I've received countless messages about a voucher "given to me by another community member" to discount 2010; they are finally releasing content packs (for 2010); they have partnered with some third party site to sell content (for 2010) I imagine, and they have former bad boys of the community answering questions in his best Julie Andrews English nanny mannerism.

It's all pretty laughable! I'm guessing the sale of 2010 has not reached the point where N3V can pay off the Speedtree contract....:hehe:

They did link up with a site. Jointed Rail...

Pretty dastardly of N3V, trying to get multiplayer out the door by pushing their latest version of Trainz. :o

If someone's gaming computer is so weak that it can't run TS2010 then they shouldn't. Harsh reality check: if you can't ante up, ... don't. And for all those telling them to also include patches for older versions, if it was that easy I think it would have been done but even if it was, they have to look for future sales, not throw money at deadend products.

I expect multiplayer is intended for TS2012 which will likely come out summer or fall of next year. How else is Auran suposed to have users test a beta of it? A patch to TS2010 makes perfect sense, plus it gets us to be more interested in TS2012.

Since it takes weeks and weeks to deliver a simple DVD PC Game for Australia ... if I ordered now I wouldn't receive it by the deadline of Jan 11 2011.

Looks like I'll be holding out for TS2012 version.

With so many SP's it looks like 09 will be obsolete soon. N3VRfail changes its updates and versions more frequently, than MS changes its OS.

trainz 10 is most stable on my computer system,, i never has any problem with it,, even patching it

But it should have been universally available

I'm with krogen here.

I bypassed '06, went to '09 and then on to '10. With the latest patches it's the best yet.

And, surely, if Auran introduces something new you just have gotta expect that it will be built on their latest platform?

My only disagreement is that I think that the Multiplayer beta should be freely available as a time-limited release to all comers, not just those with TS2010, maybe with the tag "You have to try this .. ". But I guess that's been an Auran commercial decision either to reward existing owners or to encourage the take up of '10.

I'm anxious to see it. If it comes out as announced it would allow a number of people to run a railroad network they have cooperatively built and operate it prototypically without brain damaged AI ... the possibility of this kind of cyber model railroad club is intriguing.

Sorta snuck up on us here didnt it? well if it is only standard in the next version, I would like to wait until we see a version that can use content in native mode more readily from previous game versions. In the long run, alot of this confict (alot not all) would resolve if they create a version that will accept the content or automatically fix a majority of it from other versions to work seamlessly...... auran/ N3V..what ever... do I hear a second? :o

cheers, looking forward to this becoming a reality, I would like to be able to coordinate with my younger siblings when playing this game.....

cheers:wave:

It'd be nice to see a multiplayer Surveyor option; enabling more than one person to work on a large project at the same time. I'm doubtful that will be included though.

That said, I'd rather NV3 made some more complete content packs, or perhaps outsourcing to get a route, stock, and scenarios that are of a 2010 standard. Rather than just a single loco and carriages, a route with nice high res textures and such also. And fix 2010's bugs. I'd love to be able to purchase an official Trainz product that actually looks and feels modern. The disorganised mess we have now feels like we're still in 2006.

I have a feeling multiplayer will just create a big new world of bugs more than anything else.
