Trainz Eastern Route-The Volunteer Line

I closed this thread once because it was hijacked into personal attacks and so forth. Now it seems the same thing is happening again. The next Trainzer who responds with a personal comment will see this thread closed again.

A suggestion : If you want to have personal discussions take it outside. No one else is interested. Try to be a role model for the children here excited about their new game at the Holiday Season.

Cheers and Happy Holidays :)

Red,
I hate it that your thread is being jacked again.

This route has really caught my interest over the past few weeks.

...my Kentucky & Tennessee is viewing your company as serious competition in the East Tennessee area...:hehe:

It's fine Woody it happens. I've done it before too.

Happy to see you like the idea of what we are doing.

Hey Red,

Which are you using what kind of trainz version?

Because I really like the screenshots on above with SD50 units..those looking so realism ;)

Oh very much so!
I'm very happy to see that there is people willing to re-create the essence of railroading in the Tennessee/Kentucky/North Carolina area!
This is such a wonderful, interesting place to model isn't it?
I'm a big fan of your paint scheme, go Vols!
Eventually I will have an entire set of Kentucky & Tennessee stuff, and perhaps I'll send you some pieces to mix into your consist every now and then;).
I also appreciate how professionally you are handling this project, that is extremely commendable.

Good Work,
Woody:wave:

Red;
Great to see that you have removed your "signature banner"...
I am sure that John has learn't something from this. Some times when you are young, you bike off more than you can chew !!! (when I was young, I definitely occasionally fell into this category of "been there, done that")...... (biting off more than I could chew, - & I have some photo's of black eye's to prove it)... :hehe:

Great to read that it all eventually worked out in the end & that John refunded your deposit in "full"... No, your right, it should never have dragged on that long. But it's definitely time to now; "please" move on...
(Hopefully John has learn't a valuable lesson from this and that you can now both move forward for the benefit of all the Trainz community).

I'm impressed with your screenshots and look forward to downloading the completed route at some stage in the future...
Cheers, Mac...

It should give a number of hours of work for anyone looking to really dive into it.

We have started the last process of the build, adding in the fine trackside details and ironing out any thing we have found that needs a change. These shots are from Dison Yard up to Ryan Valley. It will show how the majority of the line will feel. Some will be thinner in order to allow for better frame rates.

Working the grade between Dison Yard and Bugtussel. These are all taken south of the tunnel over the 6.75 miles that in two places carries just over 2.15% grade.

Just redid this town about 2 hours ago, but am pretty stoked about how it is looking and feeling. The town is near a large national forest area where many go to camp and what not. It had adapted over time to support a tourist economy and not so much based on coal.
A yard set is setting out four cars from the yard to a siding for the southbound train to pick up without having to stop in the yard.

Still some fine details to work in and small adjustments but I really like how it feels.

It is a late night for this crew as they come across Stewartville still going loud late in the night. After going up north and picking up a cut of empties at a storage yard they are headed to NEMCO#77 to wait to load before heading back south to Dison Yard.

Slowly going through town at 5mph, the thunder from the engines and the clang of the bell works well at getting the attention of those around.

Question: Why do alot of people use concrete ties on US railroads ? Very few modern US RR's use concrete ties. Usually it is reserved for Class V trackage on the NEC High Speed Mainline. Very few other railroads use concrete ties, especially in rural areas.
