Trainz DLC

Hello all.

I'm having a bit of trouble with some Trainz DLC I bought on Steam, which is the SS4 China Coal Heavy Haul Pack.

I have bought other Trainz DLC stuff on Steam before and managed to install them in my copy of Trainz Simulator 12 through registering their serial numbers on my Planet Auran account. Once I bought this DLC on Steam, I looked for it's serial number but I couldn't find it.

If anyone could give me some help on this, thanks.

As you've found, that one doesn't have a serial number. This is because it can only be installed into TS12 Service Pack 1 installations using the in-game download feature. Your build (5-digit number) on the Launcher screen needs to be at least 57720 for this to be the case.

It's 58414.

Also, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I bought some other Trainz DLC's on Steam, entered their serial numbers on my Planet Auran account, and they worked fine.

May I suggest requesting a refund on your Steam purchase. Speak with a CSO and reason with them - politely - that the purchase was in error since you do not have a Steam version of Trainz to use the add-on.

TrainzFan99, create an account here, then send them an email outlining your situation. Remember, as this is a digital download (the DLC you bought) they have the right not to issue a refund, for them do to so would be an act of goodwill so you want to be as polite and tactful as possible.

Good Morning TrainzFan99
DLC packs purchased through Steam cannot directly be used with non Steam versions of Trainz. Some older DLC packs did include serial numbers, which allowed them to work with non Steam versions, however newer DLC packs do not provide or require serial numbers.

However, please contact the Trainz helpdesk ( http://support.trainzportal.com/ ) regarding this, and we may be able to organize access for you. Please include proof of purchase for your Steam purchase of the DLC pack.

Regards

You don't really seem to be listening to our advice. All you keep saying is "I don't know what to do" and "I give up" when at least two of us have made suggestions that should both work!
Hey if he gives up he gives up. There was no need for that post. Just let it go
