Trainz: Canadian Steam

Oh, okay, sorry. Okay, I just tried d/l'ing the asset myself, and it came up as missing assets for me as well. So, I right clicked on it in CM and selected "View Dependencies", which told me that it was missing an asset called "Steam White Texture" <kuid2:103021:1972770:1>, available on the DLS, and an additional unknown asset, <kuid2:98966:60000:1>. A quick check on TKUID reveals that the latter is available at USLW, here: http://uslw.net/downloads.php?action=view&id=76 . This was enough to have the asset run on my machine in TS12 SP1 HF4. Hope this helps.

It worked fine for me in T:ANE SP1. But, it looks like it's boiler is floating . I think my favorite of the Canadian National steam roster is the U-series overall. ( U-1-a to U-1-f, 4-8-2. U-2-a to U-4-b, 4-8-4. Other railways: U-1-a, CV ( Central Vermont )* U-1-c, U-3 (A and B ) , U-4-b, GTW ( Grand Trunk Western ).............* The Canadian National Version of the U-1-a has a feedwater heater. The Central Vermont version has no feedwater heater, but smoke deflectors. )

Welcome to the forums.

Click on the link below the banner and you will go to his website. There's a download section you can download the locomotives from.

The link there is working, as it redirects to DaylightTrainz.wixsite CPLW, which is a working link. The old link was CPRLocomotiveWorks My free website, it does not work anymore

Well, there you go. When he updated his website, he removed that locomotive from the download or didn't update the link to reflect the change. Remember anything on the web can disappear and it has been 2 years since the last post was made.

Lets just hope tigerko15 makes a remaster of his old Canadian locomotives, like the A class and N class from CP, as he did with 4070, 4960 and it currently doing it with the H1c-e. Plus the A class wasn't on his old site

Wayback archive works sometimes for Trainz downloads that vanished, but you at least need to know the URL of the site to put in Wayback. If you know the URL of the page where the download is, that would be better. I have downloaded stuff on Wayback from sites that changed URL's, changed hosts, closed, etc. Like the PerRock Amtrak Amfleets which seem to be gone from the current Amtrak Trainz site. And the real Amfleet's days are numbered, Amtrak is going to retire them and replace them with Venture coaches with larger windows and Aero trainsets.

But for CPLW is different. Internet archive has trouble loading wix pages that are archived in 2016-2018. The locos were made around that time. Plus on the site at that time, it requires you to sign in to get it. You can't even do that anymore so the models are lost to time

Speaking of the Internet Archive, I'm hearing that the entire archive system got hit by a hack or cyberattack or something. It's offline.

The CPR Works site doesn't work anymore. Does that mean I can't get the Grand Canyon 2-8-2, the Cuyahoga Valley 2-8-2, etc.? I tried wayback but the downloads are broken. I guess I should download everything from all Trainz sites and back it up because sites can vanish without warning. Did the CPR site close or is the site not working for some reason? 404 means that the site or page no longer exists. Those were really neat steam locomotive kitbashes and now they are just gone. I didn't download all of them. I think I just have an Eagle River one and the McCloud 2-8-2 somewhere.

They merged with someone else but I can't remember who it is offhand. I found that out when I was looking for dependencies one day for something else.

I tried looking around, but couldn't find a site where their content is hosted on. The wix site doesn't work, goes to a 404 error page which means that the url is invalid or misspelled, in this case the site was removed. You can get to the download pages on wayback but the download files weren't archived. It's really my fault for not downloading everything when it was active. Maybe someone can help track down their new location. I could try pm'ing guys who were involved with the site, I pm'ed tigerko15 who did some of the steam locomotive kitbashes.

Your best bet is pm'ing tigerko15. I seriously can't remember the site the assets were moved to.
