I have TC3 and TS10 working in Win7 64bit and everything seems fine. I'm enjoying Win7 so far. ;)

better? Amazing?

Yes, but are you guys seeing amazing performance? What features are now unbelievable?! What couldn't you live without now that you've seen 2010 in Windows 7? Anything?

thanks,

Got TS2009 on my new PC with Windows 7 and I don't have any problems in particular! Content Manager runs well, usually without crashing!:D

When you insert the TS2009 disk, click on my computer. Then right click the disk drive and select run as an administrator. And... BINGO! it should work.

Hope this helps.

Windows 7 and Trainz

While I don't have a tremendous amount of experience with Trainz, due to its resource requirements (and lack of them on previous computers), I have successfully installed Trainz 2006 and SP1 on a new computer running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. Trainz works OK, not nearly as well as MSTS does, on this computer. I have not yet invested in a separate video card, which I suspect would help Trainz run better. But, yes, even the older version will work with Windows 7. I did install Trainz in the "x86" Program Files directory, but I've not had to use "compatibility mode" to get the program to run. So, don't give up hope!:D

YES.

I am running TRS2004, TRS2006, TRS2010, Gmax, 3dsMax and Photoshop 7.0 on my LAPTOP with Win 7 Pro.

Win 7 is like XP again. It works with minimal issues so far.

Trainz 2006 on Windows 7

I am about to purchase a new computer. I am seeking help please. Will I need to buy Windows 7 32 or 64 bit to be sure TRS2006 will work. I have also thought about buying Windows 7 Ultimate will this also help. Mamy thanks :) Didcot.

Trainz works fine under Windows 7 either 64-bit or 32-bit. I would go with the 64-bit version whether you have more than 3GB of RAM or not. Overall it handles processing a bit faster on the OS side. With the 64-bit versions of Vista even, I found the system to be a bit more spiffy than with the 32-bit. Remember machines can be upgraded, like motherboards replaced, etc., so starting with the 32-bit version is a mute point.

Remember though, the new OS's require that programs such as Trainz to be installed with Adminstrator rights in order to operate properly. This isn't just Trainz that requires it, by the way. If you do this, going forward you won't have any installation issues of content or anything else.

I hope I answered some of your questions.

Seeing this thread prompted a question that I have about Windows 7.

Hopefully today I receive my new computer with Windows 7 64 bit Pro and enough power to run my Trainz versions. I have read about installing those already (many thanks to those who posted in various threads about that) but its a few other programs I am wondering about.

Are there any problems or special ways to install programs such as TrainzObjectz and all of PEV's utility programs. I know I could ask PEV about his or he may have mentioned on his thread, but I thought I would throw that one in here.

It's TrainzObjectz I am really interested in, I intend to install 2004 and 2010 on the new computer and TO is still a major part of 2004 for me.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Craig
