Trainz 2012 Hot fix 4 build 57898 to 61388 problems

does not make bogies
So I decided to patch trainz again and this time has killed the game. To start off, every time I click a menu, the game freezes for about 5 min before it goes to that menu. Say I open a route and I go to place a train, it takes ages because just clicking the place train menu freezes the game for a min. Then if I type a name in the search engine or even scroll, she freezes up on me, not to mention a great deal of my content went faulty. Mostly my JR content. Im going to look in the service pack updates though. Any help guys?

Whe I tried this, it didnt work because for some reason it wont clear the libraies folder

Make sure your viewing that folder specifically with administrator rights if its not already, then delete all files within that folder that was specified in hiyos post. It shouldnt not clear it all out if your deleting it all as it was. The only time things will reappear is after you restart trainz and such again as it is rebuilding things during that time.

real quick, I want to note that when I first went to the cache libraries folder, it gave me an error saying its unreadable. But it still let me into the folder. I emailed you guys about reinstalling trainz because at this point, nothings really working right. :/

Hi Ben,

Yes, run Trainz with Admin rights under Windows 8.1, just like Windows 7.

If you just updated your Trainz to 61388, the database is still validating. This will make the menus freeze and the program to appear as though it's locked up. My suggestion is to wait until the validation is completed. This process can take a lot of time, depending upon how much content you have installed and how much Payware DLC you have.

Thanks john! I'll give it time. I'd like to know how I run as an admin though. And here's another problem I came across. I go to back up the user data folder but it won't do any changes just like trying to delete the cache library.

Hi Ben,

Right-click on the shortcut, choose properties, and then the compatibility. Run as Administrator is in there in the lower section.

You may need access rights to be able to make changes to those folders.

To change the access rights to a folder, right-click, choose properties, and then to the security tab. You can then change the access for Users by clicking on the Edit... button to Full Access. It may take awhile to do this too because of the number of files in TS12.

Thanks, if this problem re occurs I will try this, but for now, I've resorted to reinstalling trainz as its probably a good idea to start fresh right now. Thanks again and Ill keep ya posted!
