I'll piggy back my stupid question into this thread.
I am completely new to Trainz, wanted to get 2004 or 2006 but I waited to see what happened. Now I see they have two editions of TS2009, the World Builder and the Engineer. My question is, what exactly is the difference here? I surmised from reading that Engineer will release after people build some new content and will include all the newly built content of 2009WBE. Is that accurate?
However, if I buy WBE, then I should have tons of routes to use if I want to drive some trains immediately, right? It includes all sorts of user created routes from 2004 and 2006, as well as the official content for both? I want to be able to drive some Trains, and I figure it will take me some time to learn the builder, so I want to have some game to play while learning. WBE will work for me, right (the price point is pretty low, so that may be what concerns me)?
Also, wouldn't the major difference between WBE and EE just be that I would have to physically do the work to pick and choose new content to download with the WBE, wheras it is already on the EE? I'm a big boy and can spend time DL'ing stuff, so I don't mind.
Also, I am primarily interesting in building and running passenger trains (as I lived in NYC recently, I got kinda hooked on the idea of mass transit trains). Is this available?
