Trainz 19 freezing issue

Hello guys. Still new to Trainz 2019, after a few mins into gameplay and driving trains, the game freezes after 5 mins making me have to restart the game. After a few tweaks in the performance settings I found out that turning off shadows resolves this issue. However It doesn't make visual gameplay look great. I have submitted a ticket to the support team but also would like to ask the community as well

Device Specifications:
MacBookPro 2017
Processor - 3.1GHz Dual-Core intel Core i5
Memory - 8GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Graphics - Intel Iris Graphics 650 1536MB

Cheers guys

This almost sounds like a heat issue - is the macbook otherwise stable with graphics intensive programs? Do you have anything like istat menus that can monitor temps?
Are you running the laptop open or in clamshell mode?

Yes it runs completely stable with intensive programs. Even TANE. I run the laptop open and no don't have istat menus that can monitor the devices temp

On your 2017 MacBookPro you'll likely have to run without shadows. In fact, on your MacBookPro, to get satisfactory frame rates you'll need turn most settings down to minimum. Avoid large routes (model railroads are good such as Philskene routes) and you must avoid routes with large yards. People are having good results with the new Mac mini's. I have 3 iMacs and a old MacBook Pro. Not ideal for gaming so I built a Win gamer two years ago. I don't regret it at all. So many more hardware and upgrade options for gaming. But don't try to get me to use windows for everyday work and such!

Your MBP has better graphics than mine so you might see better results than me but nothing close to being able to urn high end settings and shadows. Perhaps someone with experience with your card can speak better to the particular settings they run.

Others have had good results with old Mac Pro's and such and better graphics cards. But there is not much you can do on your MacBook Pro. I did put an SSD drive in mine which helped overall performance a lot but that's not going to help go to high setting in Trainz.

P.S. You can see your frame rates by selecting "Developer" on the opening panel, and "Show Profiler" - Report back with your fps.

All of my settings are turned down to minimum and checked fps during gameplay giving out 30fps. Yeah, MacBooks dont offer options in upgrading hardware.
