Trains hopping over railroad crossings

I have noticed that in TRS 22, trains seem to hop over fixed road crossings (objects that have a section of fixed track and a road section with spine points at each end of both). In other words, locomotives and cars quickly raise up when they hit the crossing, and then drop back down on the other side of it. Is there a way to eliminate this, by editing files or doing anything else on my end? There are some fixed crossings that I really like, but this jumping motion is a bit off-putting to me.

The issue dates back to T:ANE with fixed-track type of railroad crossings. This is supposed to be some kind of effect but it doesn't come across well. This was mentioned early on in bug reports and in the forum but never fixed.

The alternative is to use the build-your-own type of crossing using ATLS or TRC. If you are using TRS22, the latest build broke the TRC crossing components and it's best to use the ATLS crossing components from Boat instead.

Well, that's a pretty bad bug to not fix. So, it's not present in Trainz 12 and earlier? But, I have moved on to 19 and 22. I couldn't figure out the do it yourself crossings and I like the convenience of the ready made crossings, like the bnsf50 ones and others.

I recently swapped out 34 BNSF50 crossings for TRC 4 and the difference is like night and day. There are no noisy bells and constant bell ringing, gates going down at the last minute, and as always with build-you-own you can place them at any angle.

This is one of those mystery features that they added then abandoned as-is without any attempt to update or correct. Values for this come from config tags but its likely that crossings have a default set by the game in order to always produce this silly and inappropriate popping effect in old crossings. There is at least a track bump pitch and roll available to a trackside object's details allowing you to set this effect and you can override it with script if necessary.

Sometimes I'll just put track over road without even linking the track to the road. There are crossing pads that you can place on the track to go on the road.
