Trains have been disappeeared after closing and reopening Trainz plus

Since the release of Trainz plus the trains I have put on the rails have gone after closing and reopening the rain track what I am building. The reason why I put this question that late is that I was still building the track snd i only used trains for testing, However now I am ready with it, I like the trains permanently on the rails, so I really can drive them and can shunting, composing consists etc. Does anybody recognise this problem and can help me to solve it,

Kind regards,

There are a couple of things that can cause this. Having multiple default sessions and opening up the one that doesn't contain any train consists is one of them.

Sorry for the above post. I got a call and posted half a sentence. I was asking whether the trains were being placed within the route itself or in the session. Generally, I think you would want to place them in the session, in which case they are not in the route and you would have to load the session. But maybe that is too simplistic.

That was a question I was going to ask when I got interrupted. Great minds think alike!

I found the solution. There gad been made a number of sessions, not meant. I always opened the last session. That wasn't the right one. I had to open the Route and delete the unwanted sessions. So I have done now. After closing and reopening the Route the trains were saved. Thank you for your help.

You're welcome Carel. This is one of those gotchas we've all fallen for. A very long time ago, I made a post called "Will the real Default session, please stand up?", or something like that.

N3V took note and finally after a long time has finally added the option to save route-only when editing. This will allow you to save your route as you edit and save frequently without creating too many default sessions.

Once you've "finished" route editing, you can then use the default session as a base to create a driving session from. What we, or I am referring to, is the session where you set up all your drivers and configure your industries and stations and anything else that may need setting up. I usually call my session Daily operations and then use that to create other sessions such as a freight-only operations on a mostly passenger one, or maintenance day where I have the ballast trains out on the mainline. These separate driving sessions, as you can see, allow you to make many variations on a theme.

This will all come to you in due time and with experience.
