TRAIN WONT CHANGE DIRECTION !?

Train on siding - DRIVE TO commands immediately behind engines and
along the path of expected travel.
First command WAIT, second command CHANGE DIRECTION, third command
DRIVE TO first track mark. Installed an invisible signal past junction, no other
signals. No other train movements in vicinity.
Tried alternative engines but still same action once session activated
which is ' FORWARD GEARS / MOVEMENT ONLY'.
Still have the option of wiping the complete session and reinstalling,
but none to sure of this action having the desired results.
Has anyone experienced this conundrum - or have any clues as to possible cause and remedy ?

Hi Ross,

If you have a rail end signal at the end of the siding your train may want to start in the oposite direction, which means that with the change direction command it is trying to go to the end of the siding. I would take out the change direction command and see what happens, if it still does not drive to the next trackmark try moving the trackmark slightly and check that your invisible signal is not showing red.

Well Bill worth a try but no cigar mate. I'm wondering if an earlier
command configuration of the train in question although deleted, would
still cause the train to run as though it were still obeying those original commands ??. Might just have to revert back to that particular sequence.
But thanks for your help anyway.

I've had problems with loco driven trains not swapping direction and running backwards, which is really annoying with push-pull commuter operations. My fix was to put a loco on the opposite end. It wasn't really a loco, but a powered coach used as a cab-car.

Interesting solution to a similar anomaly, but a banker on a 16 car woodchip
train plus the two lead loco's just might represent a TS version of ' Overkill '.

Cheers anyway

Hi Ross,

Does this mean you have three locos coupled to the consist? If so how many drivers do you have in the total consist? I think you will find that if you couple a loco with a driver to a consist that already has a driver the commands will all foul up and the train will do nothing. Even when running a double header you can only have one driver.

Hi Bill,

No mate only one driver - I think the fopar has been on my part in as much
as I omitted to tell you that in the same session a log train was approaching from the South. At the start end of the log train there are signals but zero signals to were the frontways only train was waiting!.
So I havn't put this theory to the test as I've gone back to the first
command setup, which works but means that empty cars need to be pushed up a gradient to get loaded with woodchips.
So apologies for my own unobservance in this particular matter.
