Multi-million dollar airline and military aviation simulators, don't use PC's or off the shelf hardware to run their programs .

Multi-million dollar railroad training simulators do or I should say high end components available to the consumer are capable of running them, I’ve seen it with my own eyes lol.

Could you tell us what exactly these airline and military aviation simulators demand (computer wise) that can’t be done with high end components available to the consumer?

If I can simulate the air brake system and buff and draft forces of a say a 150 car freight train along with computer generated graphics simulating the territory the train is traveling over with high end components that are available to the consumer then would you not be able to for airline and military aviation simulators?

I know of at least one military aviation simulator that’s currently being developed with this game engine –

http://outerra.com/

It can be run on high end computer components available to the consumer.

How about the FAA certified version of X-Plane that runs on computer components available to the consumer?

You know Bob, I read across a multitude of your posts across different topics on this forum, and one thing stands out, you just can't help picking a negative out of someone's post, no matter what the topic. You must be a real fukkin blast at a party. I don't think I have ever come across a bigger A - hole in a forum before. You are a classic forum bully, a non entity, stuck somewhere, most likely an attic room with no windows, just you, your PC, memories of yesterday when you were a top notch grade 1 fighter pilot. Your an expert across many sciences, crap dude, you should have been given a noble prize in life.

It's sad to see a human degenerate into what you have become, a bitter twisted old fart, one hand on your plastic Microsoft simulation throttle, and the other up your ass. Adios Trainz forum, I am off to one where the users are allowed to offer opinion, share experiences and generally enjoy each other's company over a shared interest. Next time you are on a steep downward gradient Bob, throttle her up, and forget where the brake is. Your a waste of clean air!

Nice job getting this thread locked, dude.

Thanks boyerm, it was time, Bob needs to go graze somewhere and leave the folks discuss stuff without being shot down for every sentence they post.

You are a classy guy, Clancy. And don't send me anymore PM's either......

Hey Andrew, no offence taken at all mate, I have enjoyed this sim immensely. I have downloaded content created by folks here and still have it on my pc. I have had tonnes of help, decent advice all along the way. I am the OP of this thread, and Bob has been on the attack since day one. Today he has something to say to Signalman, not positive of course. You see Bob, in Bob's world is an all-round expert, the type of guy who thinks people should gather at his feet, they are praised and admired with one hand, and he will keep the other hand hovering close by in case he needs to biatch-slap them when their guard is down.

Bob, I am a classy guy, I have respect for my fellow man, never questioning their opinion, just glad they are willing to share it with me. I do however react when it is required, but generally I am an in offensive kinda guy until my buttons are pressed, and to do that, you need to be a very special unique kind of A - hole.

You are just angry because you got called out for starting another RW3 versus Trainz thread, by several people. Someone mention this to you, and you send the person an insulting PM, and started calling people names that disagreed with you beginning this thread.
Here are some of your enlightening comments.

So you continue your name calling, now directed at me, because you can hide behind your computer screen and act like a tough guy. How pathetic.

Bob, I never took offence to anyone's post, except those who were insulting, and they got a suitable response. I have not even replied to the 30 odd pm's I got, for asking a simple question. You fueled a lot of that, and I still stand by my original post, development has been postponed in favour of Android compatibility development and that is on almost every android related site out there. I own an Ipad and a Nexus 7. I subscribe to Drippler, and I have said nothing that is not correct. Even if I had, I would not deserve the abuse I have received. I am not name calling you Bob, I am calling you out for the kinda bloke you are, an obnoxious individual enshrined in a self preserving bubble, watch out for the needle, it is coming to your bubble soon I am sure.

New Years resolution for you - "I must try harder to tolerate other's even If I disagree with them"

Again the question is what makes them so demanding that the graphics or the flight model can’t be run on high end computer components available to the consumer?

How about Lockheed Martin who took over development of Microsoft ESP (FSX) -

How is it possible that I currently have this training software running on my PC?

G'day!

I believe Auran are working on an entirely new revamped Trainz. Completly redone.

Cheers!

Jake.

LOL. Clancy looks like an aggressive fool, bob looks like a grumpy old man, and sniper looks like a kid at a friend's house when the friends parents are having their pre-divorce battle to the death

Hi Djt, I am involved with a company that provides training to commercial flight crews. You are correct that top end sims are used for exam purposes, for our company anyway. Currently, since 2005, we have part qualified CP's using Microsoft's Flight Sim software in addition to real time logged flight time. We don't have military aircraft of any consequence here in Ireland so can't comment on it's suitability for military certification, but at commercial level it is recognized - Indeed if you pass certain in - sim Microsoft quals, it reduces your required air hours in real life, up to as much as 16 hours towards CP grade.Such quals are certified by Microsoft. That is not much I know, but it demonstrates the respect given to sim software in relation to real life, real time flight. Google flight sims Ireland, you might find us - I cant put a commercial link up here in case I was found in breach of something.

Well Ratis, be careful now, you might be accused of starting a fairy rumour lol. It would be great if it was true, the base engine is the 2004 one, even Win 7 registry sees it as that, with some minor changes around 2009, but Trainz needs to address the painful items that it's commercial users, i.e. us have been mailing them about. As President Obama said one about Sarah Palin:

"You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig"

Clancy, lets have a link to that statement about Microsoft Certifying Commercial Pilots, or did you just pull these facts out of where the sun doesn't shine like you did with your OP in this thread?
