I argue this point. No, it's Not. There have been far Worse Ideas, both in the realms of Political and Otherwise. I'm not going to delve into any though.
Some of you People are SERIOUSLY OVERREACTING
Yes, there have been far worse ideas, however there are other priorities at Auran, at least in my opinion.
How about instead of releasing a simulator (or game for this matter...) every year just to get the Auran name out there...develop a simulator that actually works right, has what we need rather than useless years old paint shed reskins that nobody uses.
How about some real content, some that rivals RailSimulator's default content.
(Which I actually thought was very good.)
How about some new cabs for the engines...all of them.
More than five new items in the new releases, yes I realize it takes time, but take some time then!
Update an aging DLS, get rid of this bogus newsletter that only exists in rumors anymore.
Whatever happened to Trainz On The Road?
How about doing more to make Trainz public, I know several people who are train sim users who have never even heard of Trainz!
Get rid of all the cheap United States content, make it at least as nice as the Australian content, why does this seem biased to me?
When I purchased Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006, the first thing I noticed was cheap, useless US content...but nice, detailed Australian Content, what a surprise, Auran is Australian based.
Get us some better routes, get rid of Black Forest, it was lousy and outdated, the same goes for Electric Commuter.
Robe River Iron should have been on the DLS, something better could have taken it's place, sure it's nice if you like running 100 car ore trains over virtually nothing for 4 hours.

Razorback Railway was the highlight of 2006 in my opinion, it was very well organized and neatly done, nice sessions and content.
IberTrainz was no different, very well done with great detail and content.
Marias Pass approach was highly enjoyable but needed better locomotives to use, thanks once again to Auran's wonderful SD40...

TTR was exceptional, but still outdated, track wise, which thank God Auran finally fixed, to an extent.
I'm tired of seeing Auran using (or stealing as I have heard at times...) content made by third party creators.
How about some stuff actually made by Auran? That is good?
Auran really needs to put some sort of weblink to Trainz Resources Directory in the game itself, I never new sites like RRMods, Jointed Rail and WoT existed when I bought the game...here's the real kicker, I actually thought Phil's SD70 was made by Auran...what a joke!:hehe:
It would be great if we could get some sort of connection to TRD, I recommend that because Johnk has built an excellent site that far exceeds anything Auran could ever make.
I appreciate what Auran has done by making the basis to this game, but they need to get on the ball and update it, or else Trainz will be on a dead end road to it's grave.
Cheers,
