This has to stop now Nv3 payware within freeware on Download Station

3rd party content should be put in a area on the DLS. Enough said.

IF it was on the DLS, then it wouldn't be third-party content, now would it?

There are dozens of good reasons for 3rd parties to NOT put their stuff on the DLS, the biggest being N3V's right to sell, and profit from, the 3rd party's hard work, should it be uploaded to the DLS, with no remediation or royalties paid to the creator.

As I said before, stop being childish, and go play your train game.

Looks like an opinion to me rather than a considered suggestion. There is a thread which is just routes that only use content from the DLS but there are reasons why content doesn't always get put on the DLS, licensing is one issue, the textures may only be licensed for freeware and to be uploaded to the DLS they must be licensed for payware and that costs the content creators money.

I have been a content creator for Trainz for a long time, so I understand this for the 3rd party's including myself. But I would not make content, lets say a signal with no lights or corona's, and then upload it without no description saying sorry but to make my signal work you must buy my corona's first for download to work correctly. This is what I am saying. The payware content should be put in a area like all the other items are, not mixed in with the freeware on the download station. I am not being childsh about this, I am addressing a problem that has been going on for a long time. You being a Trainz Veteran I would think you would understand my views, and have a little respect. I don't recall in this thread calling you any names etc.:o Enough said on this topic.

Hi John, I have made a suggestion, in my last thread. I have also address this before in the black pages of the old forum. I will go my way again. Sorry about making everyone's feathers fly.

If you have TS12 61388, unless you're in the know DLC will have downloaded before you realise. As noted there is nothing in Surveyor to identify an item from (say) Murchison 2 from any built in item or freeware asset off the DLS. I fell foul of this with one of my recent routes, people were looking for missing assets which had inadvertently gone in from Murchison. Perhaps a condition of people making payware for N3V is that any assets they create are clearly identified with a prefix that sets them apart from normal items. (In the case of Murchision, maybe MC2_xxxx
