Sure, there are some routes (especially older ones) which their creators could have spent some more time on. But, there are quite a few routes out there that are incredibally well made, including quite a few that are better than yours.

And sure, you're entitled to your oppinion, but it's not worth calling everyone's long hours of work crap... at least not to their faces if that's really the way you feel.

By the way, how do politics factor into all of this?

For what it is worth, Maddy25 licensed her stuff under her own free software license, meaning that you do not need her permission to do stuff to it/re-use it for your own stuff/etc. Re-read her license, a copy of which is available on her website at www.sentient-potato.org, on the "Trainz Source Files" page.

She might have used a non-free license for her early stuff, but I do not remember. If you do want to contact her, good luck, for it has been over a year since she last visited these Trainz forums.

EDIT: Well, she is still around, for she posted a new article in her "Madeline's Makery" blog on her website. According to one of (if not the) last posts of hers on the little tag (comment) board on her home page, she appears to be on Facebook, so maybe that explains her absence. :hehe:

What can I say I'm from Michigan, if I looked at the palm of the wrong hand I'd could get lost......we just got done with a Canadian Governor in our State...and she was a much bigger socialist-communiist idiot then I could ever think of being. She destroyed our state in 8 years...Under John Engler we had record growth...he was a republican....

But everybody had a job back then..now...or since then the socialist communist governor we did have Grandholm...started up all these fancy new "Michigan Works" buildings where the unemployment offices use to be. And with each new or renevoted building she was there promoting her policies.

I got back to the painter, or the guy who wants to paint ART.

You can give 2 guys the same KIUD's or assets..or paint colors and tell them to create a railroad..but the value is in the Assembled Image....not the parts.

It's like paint on a Canvas.

I try to make 1,000 us dollars a day when I work...that's how I bid stuff I do, just a touch more. and Ill be busy for the next 7 months.

So...next winter I get 0 a day for 5 months.....if you want to pay me to finish this route or have a brain storm, Including TRAINZ people, shout me out.

Here's what get's me the most

If you change your thread view from defaut, last viewed to most viewed. This thread comes up on like the 7th page since 2001, Jumping about a page a week, if I didn't go back to work and just F'around with TRAINZ this summer you'd have to be a country to surpass the views.

People what to know how to make their stuff look better, they want it to look real.

yes your attitude is your mirror only you have to clean it very well.
I tend to give everybody credit from 10 to 75 up year for whom Trainz is a hobby and they are proud of what they achieved and makes them feel warm and good.
To judge is up to anyone the way they feel someone else should treat them with dough from their own cookies so to speak.

By the way your's is flat and not really complicated. I mean your route.
Also the choice of trees I tried 1 year ago and did not satisfy me coz of the 4 seasons failing or faulty.
Brittany's trees come the closest to what we as designers,hobbyist or "landscapers' should be pleased with based on ST technology.
Yes she burned her bridges with her attitude on the forum. Wrong or right this is the real world we have to live and deal with same for you.
Pofig pirates the entire ST thing and N3V does not care less. Good example to show respect for someone's professional job and work he or she lives on.

Ok Wawasoo your route is nice(technically average) but not wow if you ask me looking at your professional background and 'skills' you learned at school.
For myself I put the limits of 'yes that's fione to me" very high and depending on the objects and technique available I go forward and slowly grow.

For all those out there I hope next time you temper your thoughts and feelings about the rest of the world a little bit with more respect.

To end with i am only in competition with myself on my routes and no one else and i respect all out there showing proudly there stuff.

His route looks fine to me. Just because you think that it looks like a piece of poo does not mean that he is not satisfied with it as it is, so how about you just shut your mouths and stop critisising some one's route, when all that they want to do is just share their hard work with the rest of the community.

... and criticise the community at large. Take into consideration that some people can't make highly detailed or complex routes. Some people have to use low end computers because they can not afford or do not need a new high end computer.

Your route appears to basically be some relatively flat baseboards, some track and bridges, pasted scenery and a building or two thrown in here and there. Compare that to the work of someone like Mezzoprezzo and your route is the cr*p one. You have a sky high ego.

Wawasoo, I show you this little picture of Vancouver at the warf(WIP) and it has more depth much more than your high flying ego. Yes its flat close to Vancouver that is why I choose this one all the rest of this route all the way to Calgary has Canadian Rocky Mountains surrounding them. And that is a totally different pair of landscaper Budweiser shoes!

If you are still not convinced (probably) well go to my thread and learn a little bit of what Trainz is about technically not only verbally.

Yes Mezzoprezzo (Casper keep up the good work)and many others still using TRS2004 do a wonderful job and awesome picts out there I enjoy every day. But i opted for the 3D stuff and go with it progress day by day enjoying the challenge.
I hope for yourself you come down from you Bud bar stool or sink deeper in your sofa and grump at those ugly trainzers barking back at you and still don't know why, ask OCR he has recent experience in that field too..

The point I want to make is this. I made the Atlantic Cedars and Drastically improved Conifers for Joosten and Wawasoo to improve their routes, primarily that of Wawasoo more so.

Wawasoo ripped my efforts regarding real life looking trees which is why I make them a fllat texture appearance, abilities to increase hieght to accomodate the many and his needs, and much improved textures, etc.

Wawasoo resisted even the slightest consideration of the use of the Altantic Cedar and Conifers her referenced, far superior of that in which he is using. His choice.

Joosten, I burned my bridge ONLY due to I had to defend myself after considerable attacks I could no longer sit back and justify they were happenning. It was not my attitude originally going into this adventure, but it was that in which I exited regarding SpeedTree. People only remember the short term, and not the long term. I can't control that. I also serviced my customers well, and continue plus also and most importantly short changed myself on the pricing for the benefit of the community and affordability for many. Was this respected, only by my customers till I raised my prices and now only one new customer since then.

I have since moved on to a geater challenge and role, but I am not announcing this role but that of whom should announce it. It developed over the past 12 hours, thus early in its birth.

I do believe I have a right to also dish what was served. Does two wrongs make a right, no. Did I feel my actions necessary at the end, most definitely and most others would of done the same. Was it fair that the SpeedTree haters hated me more than others who created the same thing - most definitely. Will these same people support others who do SpeedTree Payware as I did in the future if this happens, probably when they knocked my work.

Now, to be truthfully honest a route as large as this with a one species tree looks horrible. It detracts from maybe some great track work and functionality. Do I feel this route is on that will be used often and enjoyed by the masses? No, and it comes down to the one species SpeedTree that was by far thrown together by IDV. Thier skills definitely did not shine on some of their stock trees. This is what I battled to overturn for 7 months with my Payware Improvements, and failed.

Again, I stood up for myself and if someone feels that is burning my bridge it is far from the truth. No one deserves to be direspected consistantly on this forum, a practice that is becoming OH SO COMMON. It should be looked upon as I stood up for what was right and just.

my point to you burning bridges is YOU do not need to defend yourself over and over again against third parties right or wrong. The forum who judges NOT judges on who is right but where they (many of them can get a cheap deal no respect to or for payware creators efforts,time and money....
I pointed you many times into a direction of more pull back and move on strategy and do not fight Wawasoo OCR and others that have a very own opinion of life and their little world.
You are one of the brilliant ST trees creators I keep on saying that and look at my routes they are full of it.... but certain things in life you have to know when to act and when to keep silence!
Keep up the good energy and move on!!!
