Im reskining a cloned copy of the BR Class 158 in First Livery to the livery of my company Llinellau Ddraig, I re did the tga image in Paint.NET and replaced it in the file for the cloned asset. I then commited it and renamed it in content creator "BR Class 158 Llinellau Ddraig" before commiting it again. When I click on view errors and warnings one comes up about the mesh type (but this appears for all class 158 working and not working) and "The texture '158body.tga' failed to load" and then while my new train apears in the railyard list no train apears any suggestions and help? thank you.

It's a type of compression applied to TGA files during saving from certain programs. There's usually an option during the save process to turn it on or off, which is frequently already ticked. Unfortunately Trainz cannot read images saved with this type of compression applied.

Thanks Shane its done the trick as in the Error message for texture failed to load no longer shows, however i still get Error for "Progressive mesh..." while in other Class 158 its only on warning. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

PEV's program PM2Im will convert a PM mesh to an IM mesh. You would also need to update the config.txt to change the mesh link to the converted file.
You can probably find that program on Shane's web site.

I don't do reskinning so I'm not aware if this is something a reskinner has to do.

Or just use the CCP to find the mesh... the IM mesh, that is.

This isn't necessarily a very good idea! Opening in CCP can generate all kinds of new problems when it tries to up the build number. Much easier to just change the config file manually using notepad.

Agreed. If the asset is not trainz-build 2.9 or higher, CCP will upgrade it to 2.9, which for some assets will cause several tags to be obsolete, and will also mean that some assets will not show in-game.

I know that the hard way, Had to do a lot of content upgrading of the SI3D content, and OH BOY, was it a pain! It was the SI3D 2006/04 content though. And most of the texture's are missing, so I had to fix it... Till I found the HOTR models...

Also, I have this same issue with the MSTNoodle Cranky, I tried to repair it, and the .tga file is getting compressed, and won't work correctly. It won't read either, and how do you disable the compression anyway. that might help, as I had the same issue before cranky with SI3D's 2006/04 Toby.

how do you disable the compression anyway.
Open in graphic program (paint shop pro)and save uncompressed.
Like save/properties/check uncompressed.
