"The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later."

Long time train lover
Three times today I have received this notice when trying to log into the forum, "The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later." Why would this be other than the obvious?
 
They just changed over to a new server yesterday.Looks like the new servers may need to be changed out or replaced .
Don't work for long do they.

I'm having trouble getting this reply to accept apparently it's to much strain on the new server.
 
Thanks for pointing this out we will have a look at the configuration etc and see if we can find out what the problem is.

Sounds like the DLS doesn't it...
 
this has been happening to me all day, which was a bit of a pest when i only had a minute or so to have look see if there was anything new :p
 
The current location where the forums are installed is only a temporary solution while we rebuild the box they sat on before, we are trying to get this done as soon as possible so that we may get the forums back on the other machine, we felt it was better to move the forums so that people can still access them rather than just shutting them down for 2-3 days.

As I say we are trying to get this done as quickly as possible (without rushing it).

FAO American Connections: I am also looking at the DLS during this whole process and we recently upgraded all of our servers to help improve performance, but please refrain from comments like these as they are not constructive.

Thanks for keeping us current on the rebuild .
The temporary problems I can easily understand as long as the end result is an improvement , and/or a simple update .

Continue to improve , we appreciate your efforts .

Thanks for the update Spiffy.
Couldn't you use a more meaningful message than 'too busy', something like 'Updating server, you may experience some temporary problems'.
At least we would know whats going on.

Today is the same having trouble getting to the forums.
The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.
Today at 02:25 PM -3-25 -4,25 4-55pm
 
Its been even worse today I've been trying to log in all morning (at least 15 times) and keep getting the message.
But Glad to hear that they are working on it.
 
both yesterday and today about this time i found the access to the forum was greeted with the server to busy message. on a couple of instances where i did manage to get in i found if i clicked on a thread it would throw me out and the server to busy message would re appear. on both days it has taken up to an hour to gain the initial access to the forums.

Thank you for trying to keep the forums up while working on servers :-)

I think, we could live few days with these error messages ;-)
