The RUPTURE Is comming !

Well, my laptop clock and cable box clock both say 6:18, and we are still here, so I believe that it is safe to say that probably no thing has happened here in the (south)eastern U. S. ;)

Ahh, man's folly.

Regards.

I applaud you for saying what I was too lazy to say.

This whole "The rapture is coming today" stuff is a load on nonsense. I'm not Christian, but I've done enough research to know that NO ONE but God will know the exact date of Rapture...if there even is such a thing. Anyone who claims they know the date of Rapture is just a loony looking for publicity and nothing else.

So, he knows how to manipulate the brainless...

Before anyone says anything, no I'm not an atheist. I'm Jewish (we don't believe in Rapture).

Regards,

- Dan

P.S. This is why I hate the God Squad (people who don't think for themselves and relentlessly try to shove the Bible or other religious text down your throat, even if you are of a different faith).

I am a Christian and I respect other religions and their beliefs. Those who you call the God Squad are usually people who are only superficial and do nothing except trying to raise their appearance. Kind of ironic that some "Christians" believe in this nonsense that someone on earth knows when the rapture is coming and someone from another religion knows more about the subject than them.

Well, I guess we are all still here safe and sound then. Maybe he thought a rapture would be just a little too dramatic and let us off with a caution this time. :hehe:

I am Catholic but I think the only reason Judgement Day and the Rupture comes along is because the Christian faith and religion is so large around the world. If Muslim faith had nearly 2.5 billion people in their Religion we would hear Muslim 'End of the World' accusations

I am Catholic, but am open to other ideas and I can understand different things,

At the appointed time my wife and I were sitting in front of the stereo listening to a nice jazz station and slurping something decidely alcoholic (just in case). Sorry guys - I'm still here - your gonna have to put up with me for a bit longer (heaven doesn't want me and hell is afraid I'll take over, lol).

As I said above most people are really sheeple who want to be led thru life. They do not want to make decisions for themselves or be responsible for the results of those decisions. They want someone to make those decisions for them and an excuse that places the blame for bad decisions anywhere but where it should go (on themselves). Religeon is an overly convienent medium and there will always be those more then willing to "help out". Phrases such as "The Lord works in mysterious ways", "Its the lords Will", "Its the will of Allah", etc. are universal cop-outs from responsibility since its all encompassing and can never be proven one way or the other. Religeon itself isn't a scam but far too much associated with or derived from it is. Its just too damn easy (and there are no laws against fleecing your flock).

Keep in mind folks we get to go thru this all over again next year when the Mayan calender completes its (current) cycle. Its already started in a way (the movie was great, lol). Calendars are all cyclic. Ours is every 12 months. Were still here after 2011 cycles. The Mayan calender just has a longer and more accurate cycle (the Mayans were great astronimical observers). Then there was the Jan 1, 2000 flap. Again we are still here despite myrid doomsayers cries. It will never stop until it actualy happens (and you will never convince me in a gazillion years it will happen in such a manner). World war 3, asteroid strike like the dinosaur killer like 65 million years ago, super volcano eruption, etc yes. The heavens opening up and (only the brain dead faithfull) being wafted to the heavens - no.

There is evidence the human race almost went extinct about 80,000 years ago when a super volcano in southeast asia went boom. It is estimated we were down to about 3000 individuals. This is based on genetic diversity. Our genes should have a large amount of diversity yet test after test sez no -we are far too non-diversified. Tests seem to show diversity was wide until about 80,000 years ago when it ran thru a bottle neck. It has slowly been widening ever since but what caused the bottle neck? A genetisit happen to sit in on a lecture on super volcanos and when the vulcanist mentioned the super volcano in southeast asia went boom 80,000 years ago the genetistst about fell out of his chair. There was the reason. They got together after the lecture and had quite a talk.

Finally keep in mind yellowstone is not only a super volcano but the largest super volcano. It goes boom every 600,000 years (and last went boom 640,000 years ago). Get ready to duck folks, lol.

Ben (who obviously likes to read too much for his own good, lol).

At the time in question for me, I was driving along Dermmy's Clovis Sub with the BNSF train that I posted screenies up in the USA Pics thread on the Screenshot bit without a care in the world. The quack got it wrong. Wait, it feels like deja vu, oh yeah, this quack predicted the end in 1994 and guess what, he was wrong. He was wrong then, and he was wrong now, so that's yet another strike against the quack. It's 5/22/11 and he quacked another boo boo. :hehe: When will ol' Quacker get it, you don't know when the end is coming, so stop trying to scare the living heck out of everyone. We don't know when it is, and quite frankly, I don't want to know when the end of the world is. It just isn't my cup of tea to know.

At least he didn't kill anyone one with his idiocy (sure lined his pockets tho didn't he). You notice none of the Sunday morning political talk shows had him on for an after-the-rapture interview, lol. I was slurping a burbon and water at 6. Wonder what he was drinking. Probably a pina colada on the beach in Maui while surrounded by numerous nubile young ladies in string bikinis (hummm - perhaps he isn't as dumb as I thought, lol).

What about the Vegans (or whatever they were) a while back when Halleys Comet went by. A bunch of them offed themselves at some self-proclaimed prophets order. Then there is that bunch in South America that poisened themselves (kids too) some years ago. This will never stop until folks start thinking for themselves and history has shown its highly unlikely to ever happen. Its far too easy to let someone else make the decisions and blame your failures on something unproveable.

Faith healers are another never-ending scam. They only heal psychosomatic disorders. "The pain went away", etc. You never see one re-grow a finger, or a hand, or an arm, or a leg. Never anything visable, proveable, or documentable. Old Oral Roberts made a fortune at it and founded a large university with the loot. I think he was the one that said he was gonna go up into his prayer tower and fast until his flock donated $7,000,000 for some project of his and if they didn't he would ascend to heaven.

It really boils down to do these men really speak for God. Well there is a very easy way to solve that. Wait until the appointed day and if nothing happens we will know they really didn't speak for God. On the other hand if on the appointed day the heavens open up, the angels of the Lord descend, and escort him to heaven will know he did (and the check will be in the mail, lol).

Hi Ben,

Some thoughts on your comments.

~~I agree that Yellowstone is a super-volcano that could erupt sooner or later. Most people do not even know about how large and and dangerous that area could be.

Thankfully, wife and I were able to visit there, one of the most beautiful National Parks in the USA. Best time to visit Yellowstone is mid to late May....snow still there and very few visitors. We had time to poke around some of the lessor known areas.

~~This thread will be a victim of the "rapture" very soon(tm).

Regards,

Hi Aardvark1:

Yeah - its one fantastically beautiful place even if it is a gigantic ticking time bomb.

There was a great program on the Yellowstone the super volcano on the Discovery channel a while back. National Geographic Magazine had a great article on it not long ago too. When it finally happens there will be nothing left alive west of the Mississippi River. Ash falls tens of feet deep. Kiss agriculture goodbye. Probably a world wide catastrophy as that ash isn't going to only fall in the US. The jet stream and weather patterns will spread it far and wide and its highly acidic (think acid rain). Then there is the greenhouse gasses to consider. Definately ungood.

They have seismically mapped the lava chamber below and its huge. A normal volcano has a caldera perhaps a mile across and 2 or 3 deep. The caldera for Yellowstone is over 40 miles across and deep. Thats a lot of magma folks. There is also evidence its slowly filling as the ground at one end of the part is rising. Satilite elevation mapping shows it quite clearly.

I see on the news today that volcano in Iceland under the glacier (I ain't even gonna try to spell it, lol) is erupting again. Spectactular as it is its a pop gun compared to Yellowstone going boom.

As long as they don't go cancelling flights due to the ashcloud again! I'm flying over to Scotland next weekend. I suppose there's always the ferry but it's 4 times the price.

The volcano isn't the same one that caused flight chaos last year. That was Eyjafjallajokul. It's Grimsvotn this time which is one of the most active volcanoes on Iceland (not Ireland as the BBC news reader said this morning!)

I watched the programme about Yellowstone going pop a couple of years ago. I think it was a BBC production and was quite good, if somewhat hysterical.

I think they have cancelled flights around Iceland. I worked on jet engines for 15 years and volcanic ash is a big no no for them. Jet engines have parts rotating in the 12,000 RPM range (disks) millimeters from non-rotating parts (stators). The ash gets so hot it melts and coats everything and kills the compression of the incoming air. In other words it clogs it up. Plus its abrasive to everything else. It may be darned inconveinent to have to re-route or re-schedual but it beats the alternative of dead stick ditching in the ocean.

BTW I could't begin to spell or pronounce either, lol.

In some respects the hysteria was necessary tho perhaps they over did it a tad. However Yellowstone is real and the results of a major eruption would be every bit as catastrophic as they related. It would be a civilization changing event to some degree. The western US destroyed, world wide weather changes, crop failure, mass starvation, economic effects, etc. How much might depend on if we had some idea as to when. They do monitor seismic activity and the frequency of local earthquakes has been increasing. Wheather it goes boom next year, next decade, next century, or next millinium is anybodys guess. I live in south Florida so I'm probably far enough away not to be directly effected very much (just a light coating of ash perhaps) but everything else would effect me.

I think that the world will end when trainz will have doppler effects(in 1 million of years maybe) but i dont believe in these absurd predictions of the people that know about to control people with fear. If the world ends we will not know when it will finish but for me the people still is dying and living and the world`s end will be a total people die. For me i know that i will die one day (but i dont know when) and nobody saves him of die. Dont believe in these ****ing people mind****ers that only wants to give their fear to the other people to be calmed. Live your lifes like you know and dont obey these perturbated people. This is my opinion and sorry for my bad engish hehe

Greetings
Ivan

P.D I think that in 2012 i will be playing Trainz 2013????? haha
Take a good day
