TOPSIG iPortaling

Hot fix 3 is now available, also iPortalSP.cdp will be available soon for our newest members equipment. The iPortalPennsy.cdp will be updated to V2 to remove faulty equipment (it will break your iPortal if you use it).

I am thinking about bumping up the equipment count to 6 freight locos, 15 freight cars, 3~4 Pass locos and 10~12 pass cars. Anyone have thoughts on this, objections, concerns?

Also I was entertaining adding a JR Freeware iPortal consist but I get mixed opinions on this, any one want to add their thoughts?

Edit: Terrific, hot fix 3 (hot break 3) now all my speed trees have disappeared and the display is very jerky in surveyor, another fine job by N3V :(

That sucks to hear Ken. But I do hope to see some updated rolling stock consists.


But I want to point out that the most important document out there right now is the Load Requests document. I'm using that one to figure out who needs what and from whom it should come. Its used to track comedies as a whole. The other document, the User List, is use to keep track of every thing on an individual basis's. I all most want to say lets stop adding new products to the lists and use what we have. So far we have 85 products that we will be moving to and from one another.

So its important that the load request list bee updated regularly and formatted right. Ive noticed that James has put in what he produces, and how many cars of what he consumes in. But he didt not put an "X" in the products that he dose nothing with. This is important cause the way I read and check the list on my end when making up train orders.

Speaking of train orders, I have the first one made up. Train V688 in a train from James to Trainsim with 90 coal hoppers. This train must pass though all users to get to Trainsim. But when sent out by James should be noted on the Trains Running document. Ether every one updates the Trains Running document them selves, or you let me know that locomotive XXXX was sent to so and so from so and so. That way I can update it. Ether way works.
 
Yeah my speed trees are back (Jamesfaa cut them down so he could ship them back to me :hehe: )

Anyway I have gotten positive feed back about the equipment count increase so see my earlier post for numbers and send me your wish list.

I have also placed the URL information for "14 of Ben Neal's locos" that are fixed for TS12 in my Google docs space. Download the zip from the rapid share site and install the 3 CDP's.

A new iPortalPennsyV2.CDP should be available today + 2 CDP to download and install for an engine and tender. The following items can be removed <kuid2:58422:100023:1> GG1 green and <kuid2:58422:14:1> PRR DD1 if you want to cleanup you DB. If you have not loaded the DRGW SD50 it is also available from my Google drive space.

Some thing I have noticed on the Load Requests document that I'd like to not see. Some of you have put C25 to indicate you consume 25 of a product. This dose not help, in flat it slows down my though process and intern how fast I can make up train orders.

If you produce a product, put a "P" in the box. If you consume a product put the number of cars you consume of it in the box. If you produce and consume put a "P" then a "/" then the number of cars you need in the box.

It just makes it easier for me to read because the way the document formant words and text.

Todays update iPortalSP.CDP is now on my Google space for your downloading. Make sure you install it and download all the dependencies + the 14 of Ben Neal's engines cdp's .
 
I'm thinking about changing to the BN since they have more variety of locomotives for next week session. Also i have a broken asset "50ft PRR Gondola"

I will be leaving my house and heading up to my cabin for a few days tonight, so I wont be able to operate tonight.
 
OK... I just looked this morning and i have lost my route plus the session. So now I'm just going to build a new route for BN since I can't find any NS equipment. I hopefully will have the new route done by the new operating session.
 
After last nights session and all the iPortal problems we are having I think it would be a good idea if everyone checked their equipment out by running it through one of their iPortal's to the other. I found last week that one of my engines was fine going through by itself but if I put cars with it the iPortal would lock up and become nonfunctional. All equipment that does not work should be removed from interchange and replaced with working ones.
 
I put a Iportal Rolling stock Google Doc.
You should get a E-Mail please fill it out and kept it to the first 3 rows. This will print out better.
Right now I have no idea of what rolling stock anyone is using so here we all will know.
This will let us know that we have all your rolling stock and we will know what is to load into empty cars.

Danny, we are supposed to send all of our content to Ken, who then in turn makes the files and makes sure they are all in one location for us.

I have no idea of who is going to send me what as far as rolling stock goes!
Ken is doing a fine job at that but if a person don't send him what he need then we don't get it but they add their rolling stock to the list then everybody can see if they got it, again no body had made up a list.
I think that players should only have rolling stock for what they produce and not what they consume, someone will send them loaded cars to unload and they can load them or send them on there way.
My thought was that a person would send a train east loaded for the 4 players to his east and another west for the 4 players to his west and they be loaded and by the time they got back to you it would have only loco's and a caboose.
My east bound train will go to Charles34, jib228, KenRuof, GN1996, Jemesfaa with loaded cars for each, cars on the front will go to Charles34 where he will remove ones for him, couple back to the train and send to jib228 he will do the same and so on. Now there will be no cars added because all your loaded cars should have already been sent.

Yes I did. And what I gather is you want to make a list of car types that each of us loads/unloads. For example I would put in box cars of auto parts.

But that's what the train orders are for. Once I know what every one needs and what every one produces, I can make up more train orders. Once we have that you will know, regardless of what car it it, what to load into what train. You might have to load general goods on to a flat car, or gondola, or box car.

We are sending cars based on loads, not road names. So a box car lettered for CSX dose not have to go back to me.

Example, Trainsim sent me a train a few weeks ago with lumber. Some loads where in box cars, some where on flat cars. I could have then sent the empty's back to Trainsim, or send them to Ken.

We are moveing products, not cars.The cars just carry the products for us.
 
2 update iPortal consists are up on Google, iPortalATSFV2.cdp and iPortalPennsyV3.cdp. Make sure you download, install and download dependencies.

You can, just send all your content to Ken again. And take mental note of the headache this may cause some of us.
 
OOPS, I found an error in the iPortalPennsyV3.cdp so if you already downloaded it then you will have to again. Also one car update is headed to the DLS so it may not be available till later this week. New consist is on the Google space.
