I'm having a great time with the making of MARSZ content, Ishie. Like, A switch looks ok on regular track, but I couldn't get around what it's like on maglev track. So this is what I came up with. It doesn't animate. Ya know, a slow slide. It changes instantly to the new direction of travel but looks good when there.
 
This is what the MARSZ-D "Y" Switch Signal Gantry looks like as I posted it. The picture didn't catch the flashing blue light just to the right of the signal board. On all my content, flashing blue lights is indicating an air station or air lock. Enjoy Don49plm

Here’s a picture sitting inside MARSZ-D passenger car. With this finished the Carelton Rapids and Pottash is much closer to Marsz orbit. I can’t wait to put my CRAP on the surface for all to use. For now Don49plm signing off .

We here at the Carelton Rapids believe we have found the full potential of Maglev technology. Our train consists of the M1a thru M5a units, then 24 M7 container cars, then the M5b thru M1b units in the back. Fully loaded the consist is able to achieve an acceleration of 0 to 60 mps in 5.6 seconds and a deceleration of 60 to 0 in the length of 2 ½ cars all on level ground with a top speed of 95 mph. From top speed to stop is 7 ½ cars.

Here is a pic of my test track with a 20% grade. Route builders need not worry about steep hills.

The first “Units” on the planet well be the orange and black paint scheme as shown in the pics so far. There is a logo texture (shown below) and off the logo is a number larger near the rear of the “manned units”. The containers well be two tone with a larger logo area on them. The reason I did it like this is who’s going to be standing out on the side of the tracks rail fanning so.. What the heck. When there released it well be ok to change the orange and the logo to fit your needs but I didn’t lay a texture out on the body, just a fill color, the orange. Don49plm signing off.

What I meant by scheme is will the engine and cars can be textured to represent something else, for example, if you texture the engine black and yellow, with blinking yellow coronas, that car can be a maintenance car in case the Orange car ever breaks down --- LOL .... Just a suggestion! :hehe: --- I normally do maintenance type of cars when I work on a specific type of engine and passenger cars that similiar in theme ... simplistically, it gives more varies to play with! That's all LOL

Hi Ish, My “M” unit train (I think that what I’m going to call the “orange” train) is just the beginning. I plan the make to make all of the assets a railroad on Marsz would need to do all it needs to do. What I’m thinking my plan is, is to start down loading my content with other road names like Trans-Alliance or what ever you all want. (Not rebel). There’s car maintenance, track maintenance. I’m also working on track laying machines. A very large sting of tracked vehicles for that. I want to move a tunnel boring machine 100 to 150 miles from the landing zone. I want a “big hook”. 600 ton train crane and all the cars needed for car recovery. I’m just getting started. I’ve got track, tunnels, switch machines, signals. Much more to come. So to start with Carelton Rapids well be a asset provider in prep for landing at Midway Station. As you can see, Marsz is getting big in the window. Not long now. Don49plm singing off.

Wow --- Impressive ideas you got there, Don! One theme that I have been slowly implementing for Marsz and other planets are focusing on mining operations -- 92ft long hopper is what it takes to move the coal on Marsz, which is slightly reddish in textures; And other worlds like the Volcano planet which is always dark skies, and ash in the air LOL!

You know, you can modify my modules to fit your needs --- I made that clear in the desorption, that any module can be re-designed to carter to the User's taste --- I am looking forward to seeing your goodies in action, and if you have the tools take a video clip at your convenience and share it with us!

I've been slow here as of late do to real life but plenty to show when I come to that bridge .... :hehe:

All in all, thanks for your contribution -- I am sure our small scifi community here welcomes it as I do!:wave:

Here we are on the flight deck on the space ship Explore 1. We have reach orbit and are about to start some limited landing operations. We are going to start with some tracks, switches, and signals. We well than fallow that with the MARSZ-D M20 100 Ft. Ore Hopper. But…. Before we do. We’re hearing a lot of chatter on the com channels about some sort of rebel uprising. We here of the Carelton Rapids would like to know what this is all about and are our people and equipment in danger. We don’t wish to have any trouble and we are prepared to arm our selves. Very cool stuff --- love the story element behind it all, Don -- I've been kind of lazy as of lot , but I got some ideas, in terms of contents, that will blend in smoothly with your contents, etc --- Perhaps I launch 3dmax this week :hehe:

Talking about space ports, Marsz locks a huge space station --- I might put some time behind one --- Bendorsey created a pair of elevators at my request, so these can be use as attachment points to such an item --- etc ...

Been watching Battlestar Galactica series 2003 from Amazon Streaming, and I got some great ideas for some future ships --- To be honest with all of you I just been in that limbo stage -- Here in Florida, in this hot humid weather just throws me off!! Nevertheless, my focus is getting there, especially seeing Don stuff -- I might have to built contents around his stuff to expand on theme, etc! :hehe:
