Good Morning Colonists, LOL

For those who have T12 -- After backing up all modules in the works via CDP, I did a clean installation of T12, then downloaded all of previous patches from N3V site, and installed them one at a time ---

46957_to_47059
47059_to_48249
48249_to_49922

SP1
49922_to_57720

All of the patche except SP1 took 5min or less to patch ---

Then SP1, which took 3 and half hours to patch!

No problems whatsoever -- tested it all out, including CMP+!!!
Successful patch all in all!!!

The SP1 Patch fixes the merging issue that T12 had, which was that it crashed trainz when routes where merged; But from I have read from Clam that he merged some routes, and there;s no crashes!

Shane also noted that he will test it out and update his merging tutorial so whenever that happens I will post a note here about it!

Anyhow, if anyone merged any modules please noted it down here -- Sunday's is our church and activity day, but feeling under the weather so we're staying home --- I'll see later today about merging some modules myself, and see how that all comes outs!

Have a good day all!

Hey Gerns,

I say go with the gray -- WHY? To really work to a moon base atmosphere you would have to change how the sky looks at a later time, I recommend --- If you play around with the sky at this stage you can really get a feel how the texture is going to look like, etc ... ex: like the screenshot that I have posted on the previous posts!

Have a good night and catch you all tomorrow!!!

Hello Gerns

I concur with ish, for realistic moon surface the grey would be the likely choice.

BTW - I like what you have done so far, keep up the fine work.

Good Afternoon Colonists,

There's going to be a delay on the next uploads of items and Modules --- N3V SP1 has implemented the 2.9 version, meaning that I can't longer upload with v2.8, which means that nearly 100 new items need to be updated to 2.9 -- However, there's another issue -- it is not as simple as to change the version -- most of the information in the config file is no longer supported, so where does this leave me? --- well, I made a general config file that will work flawlessly with v2.9 --- Now, I must copy and paste this config file, changing only the kuids number and title into the folder of each item -- This will take time on my part, since I also working on new modules too, etc ---

I tend to divide my time between contents and layouts -- And, we will be leaving Marsz to explore other worlds, etc ... This is an idea that I feel that you are going to like, if you like scifi movies and books, and mining operations --- when I upload the displacement maps I will give more detail about other worlds -- I will leave you with this ---

On other words, we will focus ONLY on mining operations on a grand scale, using Ben's flatbed and my new huge hoppers to haul all of this material to galaxy-type super ships, LOL I feel that we have the items to make it look and feel realistic --- Ben creations as well as Steve reskinned powerful train engines can handle the heavy loads of super hoppers, of 92ft long --- We have drillings, huge machines on Ben's bogies, etc ... I have the texture, and as you can see, when I helped Gern out with his moon contents, those displacement maps and textures too, etc ...

Anyhow, thanks for reading --
Everyone have a nice day!!!:)

it would help if the items had generic names . by having mars on items it limits this use.i have been using nasa as my theme but would love to use something else.

Hi Gerns,

Marsz-I is just an ID, and it's easy to fine all items under that theme, etc .. an example of this is a Galaxy-type ship that will coming later in the future, where as it will have Marsz-I Galaxy XXXXXX --- I try to keep it as close as possible, Gerns, from a theme point of view, and slight grayish textures, so we don't have all different type of colors all over the place --- example of this is the gamma and greenhouse structures, where as they are textured for a specific theme, gray is still the general texture used in the item, just like the Marsz tag, etc --- Hope that explan the reasoning of it all! LOL

oh dont get me wrong everything in the marsz catagory is fine with me , as you say they are easier to find this way . i was refering to the engines and other items that have names on them . it would be easier if we called these something generic like :galactic lines or explorators corp. etc.

didn't babylon 5 have a interstellar corp and there's always the federation .something we can use anywhere as our theoretical corporate bosses.this would also give all our layouts a reason for being

Good Morning Gern,

Took a break from the PC yesterday --- needed it --- LOL

Yes, actually, it is why I now include I-RS and then the name of the rolling stock! --- I = Ish, RS = Rolling Stock, then XXXXXX ... the name ... It's easier to find if one type I-RS in trainz, etc ... I will then use traditional old names to name the RS occurredingly!

Butler-57 expressed your same comments last year, but by then it was too late, as I have named RS's Marsz --- However, I might update as i go alone these RS at the DLS; but since N3V implementing all of these crazy changes of how content is made, I might have to reconsidered, etc ... will see!!!
