The "Good" SP1 thread

Thankyou so much N3V for these added features with rules! I was surprised to see an update to it as I don't think many people at all use them..

Definitely will help with scenario making!

The 'old style' format is the .JA files for DLC content, which is now replaced by a package format. .JA files for built-in and previous version content do not seem to be affected from what I've read though.

Shane
I have the digital download version of these add-ons ( bought from Amazon )

Murchison 2
Settle & Carlisle

Are these affected by the new content system ?

I think they are offline at the weekend . Also I don't understand why can't we download the games / DLCs from the Auran servers if we bought them from another website but registered them on our Auran account .

Already been said in another thread that the new system will download the DLC for whatever serials you have registered irrespective of where you bought it originally, too many threads on here moving to fast for people to keep up! If you mean actual copies of Trainz you still have to them get from the place you bought them from.

How about the DHR? I just finished checking all the content. They are are on the DLS and all are free of errors (some warnings though). Runs 57 miles from 450 feet to over 7400 feet. Steep grades (around 7to10 percent), switchbacks, loops, and other cool stuff. Single track, 24-inch narrowgauge steam line in India.

The SP1 patch has been downloaded (about 4 hours) and installed (around 7 hours including the Duchess and S&C add on packs) successfully and without problems. The GCR route appears to work OK. The major exception is the known problem with the coupling. I look forward to receiving the "hotfix" in the near future. Various payware items are flagged with a warning (e.g. Camscott's locos) since they lack thumbnails, but these can be fixed fairly easily. Thanks to all at N3V.

Peter.

i dont see anything listed as dhr on the dl station

Shane it's now on the DLS, narrowgauge and team have made a superhuman effort to get it all on the DLS and it's likely to get added to in future.

Search Darjeeling in Content Manager under routes.

I am sorry. I should have elongated the acronym from DHR to "Darjeeling Himalayan Railroad". And, yes, Peter, Myself , and other labored quite a while making it all compatible to the DLS and ALL of the content is available there.

I have noticed, however, that a very few items have the "missing file named 'dhr_content.jpg'" error. That can be fixed easily, but if you wish to do it yourself, simply open content that does NOT have the error and copy/paste the file into the erroneous content while editing in Explorer. I made a list of all of the ones that didn't (somehow) get the JPG file and am sure we will be updating them quickly.

EDIT: Official name is - "Darjeeling Himalayan Ry TS12 Orig" (KUID2:44700:810000:7). Also, ensure you have the HTML assets for the Sessions.

Installed Fine - Most Content Updates included in SP1. Nice changes to the GUI Interface. Uhm, not sure yet but looks like SpeedTree Specular Lighting increase. Could be new monitor too and not playing for a long time.

Good news with real details is really good news badly needed

I would say, now that I have a better understanding, and working flawless now... I am happier. Smoother gameplay, higher FPS, too. I went through all my downloads (backup CDPs) and got rid of all the "excess", which I don't really need. Back to basics for now, just local names like Santa Fe/ATSF/BNSF, Southern Pacific, Western Pacific, and Union Pacific. I will consider CSX and NS content later. I just need to figure out now what to do about Marias Pass X and Sherman Hill. Debating if it will be worth it, as I hear of some things like treez and such might be an issue. Oh, more testing tomorrow.

Dear Tony,

I know you and other individuals not expect, like me over here but we freedom of speech and impressions and most of all experience and real data with real results! to share so allow me to add a post here.
Critics or complains not necessarily mean bad news if you know where it comes from and foremost (forgive my english if not as good as most trainzers) wealth of experience shared should be read with different glasses and attitude!
Out of "bad" things good things can grow if wanted too, from good things seldom better things derive, experience tells me.

Here is the bad news first.... your thread how well meant is not always telling the whole story or even not telling the story unintentionally for sure.
This one from dear friend Paul how well meant is not telling here he dl install SP1 was it clean install (forgot) he only search and rescue for missing or gone cdps in CMP to make his dbase working again before even installing ANY route so when i read this one yesterday I first was shocked positive how the h... could he run things smooth when I got not even close, this answers. Nothing wrong but we will here more from him too. I bet today he will install a route to test real stuff.... hope goes well.

So here is the good news: I am probably a loner that dl install and fixed 3rd party content to 95% excl jvc which is updated later this year by Jan and running as we speak a deleted and freshly reinstalled large (for most trainzers)huge route no one can compare too any trainzer for sure. All of this done in less than 1,5 day.
Yes its running and this time the iportals where not vanished or gone eaten by the spline beetle.
the Speedtree beetle this time when hitting the ctrl alt del keys to run task mngr in win8 did not kill the treezs when running trainz driver windowed so not reproducable.
More details on real testing in a real trainz world you can find on my threads for those interested, barking dogs not welcome.

i not send flowers I sent real data more valuable than flowers or nice words gone in 2 days that is the difference of my way of talking.

I am not pleased with SP1 as it did not at all address REAL bugs(existing for many years) we serious route builders know and share with down under(but not heard for whatever reason).
I see some nice improvements but to early to talk detailed about it.

So the good news yes it's there but like all things one picture tells a thousand words.

to end Hi Brittany!! see you around all well?? hope your health improved after your short visit to our country. Still like very much your stuff.

roy i feel bad for you and all the work you did with your route, not to mention everyone that paid 70.00 for a route that cant be used with sp1, i hope eventually you will be able to work something out with getting it working with sp1. the fact is long term results the sp1 is setting thee way for trainz 14, and i think thats sp1 was a big improvement, things will always change, thats just the way it is, and your route was my favorite.

Today, I am starting out with getting Dave Snow's "Cotton Belt" route back in my database. So far, the only real problems, missing thumbnails or ones that point to nonexistent files. Slowly, again with patience, modifying each little dependency by making it point to something that resembles the item in Content Creator Plus. Later today, I will let you know if it is a go. Then I will add a bigger route, crossing my fingers, and if that works well, I am going to attempt the routes from Roy back on, fixing those items, too. I am trying to see if it is more or less just nuisance stuff, or if real problematic stuff is going to show up.

I feel bad for the guys that build the dependencies, also. Hell yeah, Roy put a lot of time and effort in as have other route builders. But, unless work is done, and word gets out sooner, there will continue to be minor discrepancies, thumbnails or fingernails, so be it. Apparently the platform that was laid out did not get adhered to, when design has options for those Thumbelina icon makers. I don't understand why it was not a standard that was kept in check. If I don't see a screen shot looking icon for a download, forget it. It allows me to see if it good enough and not a waste. Others may follow that too. It is beneficial for the guys on slow connections, that do not have a First Class Ticket. I am still trying to figure out why I have ONE Jointed Rail loco that wants to play dead, or "ghost"... I can place it on the tracks, put another about 25 meters away, save session. Start that session in driving mode, try to drive up to it, and couple to it. But, like a ghost, I only go THROUGH it! LOL! Anyways, that's all I got for now. Blah!

working CPR route 1.0.4 for SP1 57720 ready for download

Brett,

thanks for the nice post. As we speak I did update your account you can dl the 64mb deps fix and route incl now the missing gone iportals..... ouch sorry for that I did not realzie the spline beetle creeped in there but now should work fine.
Go to your account and dl and keep me posted.

PdKoester your account is updated to and ready for dl the route and cdp fixes.

Everyone else email me and i will prep things for you to run on SP1.

One thing i noticed be careful zoom in and out now has a feature nice but careful not to freeze the session or work as it moves to satelite/map view but in driver eats/redraw in background not visible. Looks nice but zoom this time notch by notch not fast otherwise you freeze for sure.

the redraw around revelstoke is worse than 49922 and even shorte distance when turning and not turning the camera just follow the train in F2 outside town it calms down but still redraw has been altered not for the better my first impression.

Dx fps seems now a few notches faster and a few more zoom close so that sounds exciting.

Distant textures triangulated and not finished so you need to use fog 2 points as my favorite .086 shows cleary triangulated unfinished texture.

OGL has clearly much better graphics as always than Dx and no need for good weather fog 0.86.

Would be nice if one day N3V changes for real trainzer the notches in fog to be able to set less than by only 1 point but in decimals. this makes normally the real difference.

ok back to test

Roy;)
