Text visibility in property boxes.

Is it possible to change the background colour in portal property boxes. Black text on dark red background is just not visible to me. I am rather ancient and would like to make choices from these boxes. I have been able to 'fiddle' by changing the gamma setting in other versions but cannot do it in T:ANE

I agree that the text is a bit on the difficult side to read. It's not only badly colored, it's also a wee bit on the small size, which I refer to as the size of ant's footprints in some cases like on the map.

Regarding gamma settings... There's an ongoing discussion about this in the Kickstarter forum. N3V might do something, but I'm not sure if they will since you can always adjust the gamma in your video card's control panel.

I have eyesight that isn't up to par also. Nothing will make TINY black text on a dark bluish-grey background readable. What I have is a $1, 6-ingh magnifying glass sitting at the base of the monitor which I grab and hold up to the screen to read the text. You have to wonder who picked those color schemes. They're probably sitting behind closed doors snickering.

It should be possible to change both the font size and colour by editing portaltunnelinfo.gs It looks like basic HTML for those attributes, but then I'm no scripting expert.

You can also use the built in magnifier (all current versions of Windows) found under the Control Panel > Ease of Access section to magnify the part of the screen your cursor is on - give it a try.

True, Chris, but it magnifies the WHOLE screen and you have to slam the mouse to the side/top/bottom to see the rest of the screen. What I need is a simple (expandable) "magnifying" effect centered on where the mouse is at the time. Triggered by a hotkey would be nice. having the magnified area variable size would be an extra plus. haven't found anything like that anywhere.

EDIT: I did some more exploring and found I was all wet. I can do just as I asked using the Magnifier. I just needed to delve deeper into the settings. That's what I'll use from now on. Doesn't help with my Linux machines, though, but I may have found something that will work called VMG3.6 for Linux.

Seeing that everything in the world is printed in squeeshed, elongated, micro print, and even your food products you need a magnifying glass hanging around your neck to read the labels, and they all use obtrusive colors like tan font on a green background ... I think they are purposely trying to make us all go blind ... or no one in charge signs off on the font style, and background colors, and some smart Alec just likes to be Mr fancy pants, and makes obtrusive color fonts/backgrounds just for the fun of it.

You need a freestanding magnifying glass on your desk that can be slid around, or swiveled ... or duct tape a cheepo magnifying glass to a piece of coat hanger wire, mounted to your desk so that it flips down when you need it.

Many thanks to all who have commented.
I have set my machine to go into high contrast mode when pressing:
Left shift + Alt + PrintScreen
So far it appears to help with legibility inTS2012 where the background colour
is a pale blue and the text can be seen - but not too easily.

It seems that I was too hasty in posting my last remarks. If anybody has wasted
any time on it - my apologies.
