TANE - Unable to enter Height Manually in splines or topology - Any Help

Having Transferred my own large layout from TRs12 to Tane after a lot of effort with missing and faulty assets I have managed to get it working Ok. The problems I am having is in Surveyor. Wen I come to enter a figure in the height box both in topology and in laying splines it is ignored and is just treated as zero. If I use the 'get height' from another spline or piece of higher or lower ground then that can be used but anything manually set is just ignored. Can anyone help or is this just a Major Bug in TANE Surveyor

I've never seen this before... I do know you can't have a zero number in there and can't delete any numbers completely so you need to highlight and type in a new one. This maybe a bug, which I hope was fixed in the SP1 - I'll verify this one and report if it has not been fixed.

But may I ask what version are you using for T:ANE? The latest retail build from Simulator Central is 78667, and Kickstarter Supporter edition is 78660

My T:ANE Build is 78667. I have the same problem with laying track. No matter what figure I enter into the height box it will always set the height to 0. If I find some track that is already at the correct height and use the get height button then I can use that height. Clive

I have had that happen to me sporadically and got around it by clicking the "Use height" icon and then clicking in the box to highlight the numbers (blue) and then enter the value I want...then it would work properly. Does that make sense? It goes like this: click the "Get height" icon to get the height of the spline point and click on the spline point. Now click the "Use height" icon. Then click the box with the numbers and now enter your new value for height. Now click "Use Height" again and proceed.

And then other times the thing works like it should and I cannot figure out why.

Hopes this helps.

Thanks Connel. I am glad someone else has noticed the problem. I do understand what you are saying and what you say does work sometimes, it is the only way I can get around the problem, but sometimes even that does not work. I am hoping that this problem is known and it will be rectified in Service Pack 1. Thanks again Clive

Build 79155 does not have these issues, have used the spline height tool extensively and has worked perfect. Entering my own values or, using get height, use height.
