err. Not yet. And hopefully never. It is still just a plan. Lots of towns are against it, and the traffic jams caused by regular every day UP and EJ&E trains is incdredible. And that is just with 11 trains a day. Try quadruplicating that.
Doesn't matter for railroad traffic. A normal EJ&E train can cause up to a mile in traffic at most of the grade crossings it goes through. In West Chicago, the line only gets 11 trains a day. If this plan passes, which I relaly hope it won't, it will get boosted up to 40-44 trains a day.
