T:ANE (in development) screenshots...

SP1 Beta build 79199. Can't get enough of the brilliant shadow :udrool: play on objects. Spend more time watching than testing which of course is not very helpful.

Tane screenshot test.

That's looking better.

The water is reflecting the sky colours, clouds, and shadows. It no longer has that awful turquoise colour that makes it look as if there has been an illegal copper sulphate factory discharge further upstream. Hopefully that water colour rendering and sky reflection will be consistent, regardless of whether or not the asset reflections and shadows are turned on.

Hi @ all,

@ozark: Could you please let us know which settings you are currently using to generate such a fantastic screenshot?

Greetings

Ka on a run through the countryside.

Thank goodness it is not duck (swan) shooting season!

The evening starting to draw in with some birds having their last flutter for the evening before heading off to roost.

Thanks for putting up the last two post.

I enjoyed looking at them to see how the T:ANE software is developing. However, there are two issues which stood out and unfortunately (for me) spoiled the illusion of reality. They refer to shadows and reflections, and I offer these observations as constructive criticism.

The shadows of the stations buildings show across the track, but the post & rail fence to the rear of the platform is producing no shadows at all. Neither do the waiting passengers.

All are in bright sunlight.

The background scenery reflects nicely in the water, but the ducks (swans) have no reflections at all.

Maybe these anomalies are being worked on as part of the continuing development. I do hope they are.

In this case I can see shadows (from the post and rail fence). ;)

In the other things you are right.
- passengers haven't some shadows
- swans don't reflect in water
(My emphasis in red)

Ah yes, I do believe you are correct.

I've just had a closer look and there do seem to be post and rail shadows at the rear of the platform after all. I hadn't noticed them, thinking they were part of the structure of the rear edge of the platform surface. The station buildings give the illusion of the shadow being cast at approximately 90º towards the track, whereas the shadow cast by the post and rail is at a much steeper angle.

The true indication is the shadow cast by the station building chimneys onto the adjacent rooftops, which matches the post & rail shadow direction.
Thanks for putting me right Cosplay!:o

However, the shadowless people, and non-reflective swans remain a problem.:(
