Swiss Re 4/4 I Project

As the Re 4/4 was my first Maerklin model back in the mid 1950s I decided to model it for Trainz. It is on the track and works well with the cabin I've adapted from a swedish EMU I made.
Enjoy the pictures while waiting for the relaese:

Very nicely done! I like the side's textures :)
The only thing I don't like are the pantos, as they are not only of some older style, but they are also way too wide for Swiss ones... but I guess these are supposed to do as a makeshift solution only?
Other than that... great work!

Felix

EDIT: Take a look at this one by locovapeur: kuid2:182970:57133:1. That's what you need (apart from probably being a little too dark for your freshly painted roof)

The pantos are under develoopment, but the swedish catenary zig-zag from side to side very much (to clean the panto I suppose). Swiss catenary works in anouther way I think, but it easy to narrow the panto, we'll see what discussion brings?!

First, let me congratulate for your superb model!!!

Swiss catenary - as any other - also zig-zags, mainly to avoiding wear on a single point of the pantograph. The maximum width of the zig-zag, however, is much narrower than other 15 kV systems.

The Bombardier 185-class locomotives intended for service in both Germany and Switzerland have two sets of pantographs: a narrow pair for Switzerland and a wide pair for Germany; the same locomotives, if used in Germany only, have only a single, wide pair of pantographs.

I think the reason for the difference is the narrower gauge of Swiss railways because of the many tunnels. I should have a table with the sizes of the various catenaries, somewhere in one of my PCs. I'll try to retrieve it and post it here.

That, and also to maintain the wire under mechanical tension.

If someone give the right dimensions for the swiss panto I can easily resize it !?

No need, I found them on the drawing myself. Does it look OK now?

The interest in this project seems less than i thougt so I might continue in our swedish forum instead. So far I've completed some coaches of the EW I range.

I have a few questions:
What Gauge is it?
Will it be free?
Do the doors open?

Really like the look of it, I wouldn't mind BETA testing it (I don't know the technical details about the real coaches, but I can push them to the max!)

Hello lan,

the loco looks better with narrow Swiss pantographs! And the EW coaches are also very, very nice! A very well done set!

If you will continue to describe the progress of the Swedish forum, I'll try to venture there... with the help of Google Translate... :D

Hi Ian --

I think you underestimate our interest. I'm certainly interested in any locomotive or item of rolling stock of this quality.

You mention a beta test. I've skimmed though the link you provided to the Swedish forum but could not find any download location. Would it be possible for you to provide a download link?

Phil

Thank you Phil,

There is a download thread in the swedish forum, the last thread i the Auran section. I think you need to register to be able to download things and view pictures. Here is the link to the download section:

You'll also need the STL Scripts from this post:
