Are they going to be terrain? The reason why I ask is because of my preference to not raise tracks for full ballast exposure.
What I did is to use something like Sam Track, which is known for some of it's assets for being seasonal. I cloned that asset and then as before just replace the rails, chairs and ties and not to replace the ballest. I saved it as for example RTXT Seasonal 136J. You don't have to raise the height of the asset as there is enough ballest on show.

I’ll have to give it a try then.
 
I'll suggest some modern suburban scenery. Modern style strip malls, apartment buildings, and perhaps some rows/splines of cars to make parking lots easier to build.

These were made a while back, the site that had them went down but the download link still exists and is available if you search 'Metra' on the forums. The F40PHM-2 is in the same pack, but not the coaches. Just the engine and cab car.
