Suggestions for Jointed Rail (Not Locomotives)

Southern Pacific fuel tender...

Well im glad im not the only one that wants these. I live right next to Norfolk Southerns line running from Fort Wayne to Detroit so these boxcars are a common sight. It will be nice to see them in Trainz.

I was wondering if someone could take JRs functioning role up door and make it a track object? It seems like all of the openings in JRs engine shops and car shops are the same. All a person would have to do is place the door on the tracks and then move it to fill the opening.

How about a breakdown/overheat mode on some locomotives. It could act like the locomotive shutdown feature except the locomotive would smoke a lot more than usual or some other feature that would indicate that something is wrong. It could be toggled on and off in surveyor, and if the setting would be toggled on, then it could randomize if the locomotive would fail based on the weight of the train, etc...

Also, maybe a similar mode for steam era freight cars with friction bearings could be created, except instead of breaking down, the freight car could have a hotbox. The train would have to stop, set out the defective car, and then continue on it's way.

I think it would make the regular sessions a lot more interesting and it would mix them enough that they would be different every time.

Many of the single-dome tanks you linked(such as the SP one) are/were created by Tume and, with luck, will be built-in for TANE along with his Avery-Drexel update. I know he had them in his thread a while back - he didn't ever give a release date as far as I know, but my speculation is that since he'll be putting out the route in TANE, the rolling stock will come along with it. That being said, there are a couple others(such as the 6-dome and the YLCo. incline tanker) that would be kind of interesting. Hard to find drawings of them though, so I doubt they'll come into being.
I personally would like to see some passenger cars - preferably Harrimans, they'd go well with Brian's engines and freight stock, and would be suitable for many of the shortlines that fed into the Harriman roads as well. I'm afraid I can only provide drawings for the 40' standard baggage car as modified by the Yosemite Valley railroad but it would be fantastic to see them become a thing.

Would the Southern Pacific Harrimans fall into what you are talking about?
