As I was pleasantly surprised at the ease with which this file upload method worked....I thought it might be a help to someone who has TRS2006 to upload a file, with a decent estimate of success in doing it.
This applies to large files.
It of course will only work if the Auran server doesn't keep dropping off line (which it does a lot of)
Never really seemed to succeed using CMP's (Content Manager Plus) upload function.
Make sure you have formatted the file correctly in CCP, (Content Creator Plus) also, as I kept getting E-mails back from Auran saying the text in my description was written in the wrong way...UTM-15 stuff I think, I didn't put a description in the two files I uploaded succesfully.
Too many hoops to jump through really!
There is a 20mb file upload limit for the largest file you may wish to upload.
Connect to the Internet first of course.
After some time, your file will appear in the 'PREVIEW AREA' , make sure you go to this page and find the function button to approve it... (After clicking the file I think) then it should appear in the 'WAITING AREA'.
If all this is succesful you should get an E-mail from Auran saying that your file will appear on the Trainz Download Station (DLS)....all you have to do is check this is so....after some..... time.
Also, if you use the Firefox browser to upload the file...if the Auran Server drops out, a firefox info box will appear telling you that this is what has exactly happened.....which all helps to make things clearer.
Thats it!

Connect to the Internet first of course.
- Start up CMP.
- Search for the file you wish to upload so it appears in the main, big window of CMP.
- In the main window of CMP right click on the file.
- In the dialogue that appears after right clicking on the file, choose the option of creating a cdp file (Content Dispatcher file).
- CMP will then make a cdp file, and a window will open asking you where to put this file.
- I just put the file into an available folder on the Desktop.
- Close down CMP, you won't need it again in this process.
- Go to the Trainz DLS (Download Station) here: http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php
- At the bottom of the page, click on 'Planet Auran'.
- Login to the page that appears.
- On the next page, in the list at the left, click on 'Your Content'.
- There are now five buttons facing you on this next page – click on 'UPLOAD CONTENT'.
- On this new Upload Content page here, choose No2 'Preview Area Upload' (You will be able to see what happens to the file as it goes through the different processing stages through the next day/s)
- On the Preview Area Upload page, browse for the cdp file you have just created at stage 5., using the browse function on this page, and then put a tick in the confirmation of appropriate content box (If your file is not naughty in its content).
- DO NOT UPLOAD YET !
- Look at the bottom of this page....click on 'Citizens Online' this will supposedly keep you logged in if you are uploading a large file through a slow connection. I also opened up a communication box with one of the listed 'citizens' (but didn't communicate)
- Click on the 'SUBMIT' button on your 'Upload File Preview' page.
- The file will now upload.
- If it uploads succesfully a box should appear saying this is so.
