Stopped by yellow signal lights & weird turntable

The Banks Heath scenario that came in the box of the 2010 EE that I bought recently and dearly like, I get stopped cold by yellow light signals at a frieght yard area before I can get to the Hammond station on the route. Once I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for a green light and assumed something must be wrong. If you try to pass those yellow light signals, the game stops you cold for passing a red light. Is that a known bug, or am I missing something?

Also in the Harbor Master, Cookies session, at Ind DD02-04 is a Turntable #698. It opens and closes canal doors. Is it that they just use turntable commands to open and shut big doors like that, or is there an actual turntable there? Underwater? If I open those canal doors, what is supposed to happen there? Or is all that merely animation for effect?
 
And the 'Turntable' thing is something you will get used to. Certain 'classes' of assets behave in certain ways and content creators have to live with what does what. You will find lock gates that are 'turntables' you will find fences that are 'tracks' you will find all kinds of stuff that are 'bridges'. It's because a content creator had to make them that way to get them to behave in a particular fashion or possibly to suit a particular location...
