Still spending money

I purchased the UP Heritage Pack last night. I added the files with CM. I got the following errors:

Error: Tag 'category-region-0' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: Tag 'category-region-1' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: Tag 'category-era-0' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: Tag 'category-era-1' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: Tag 'category-era-2' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: Tag 'category-era-3' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: Tag 'category-era-4' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: Tag 'asset-filename' in the container 'bogey' is obsolete.
Error: The Tag 'thumbnail' is not permitted within a container of type 'bogey'.
Error: The Tag 'origname' is not permitted within a container of type 'bogey'.
Error: Required container 'thumbnails' is missing.

The consensus of the forum is that I now need to learn how to edit the config files for the items that I PAID FOR, in order for them to work.

This is unacceptable. I did not PAY for this content to then be FORCED INTO learning how to edit the config files so that they will actually work.

Time for a QUICK REMEDY FROM YOU OR A TOTAL REFUND.

Perhaps talk to Jointed Rail first as it's their DLC, not official N3V, they have a section in the Payware forum and are usually extremely helpful.
However not actually heard of anyone else with that problem on the pack?
Possibly somehow during the install process the items got opened for edit, happens occasionally, if an EDR has been done or when importing content.
Try right click on each item and revert to original unless it's greyed out, might just clear the problem. Usually even old content is fine so long as its not opened for edit or CCP isn't used on it and you use revert and not commit.
If not.
Most of those errors other than the missing thumbnail container are simple deletes.
For Info:
AssetX is a handy tool that will fix most config errors of that nature and a load more, plus create the thumbnail container and required thumbnail if its missing, bit of a learning curve with it however it save the the need to manually edit. http://members.optusnet.com.au/~villaump/pevsoft.htm, lot of other very useful stuff for Trainz there as well it's worth having.

TS12 may have backwards compatability problems with older content.

The Aerotrain is cool (but needs a replacement kuid for the lame horn and bell) it does look like a "Radio Flyer" wagon, crossbread with a Greyhound bus, and a 1956 Biscayne automobile. :hehe:

The BlueComet also has a rather lame bell and whistle sound, that needs replacement, easy to do.

I'm having a total gas with my 49 loco's that I ordered !

Check out the PRR T1 Steam engine, the horn, the sounds from outside the cab using cab view keystrokes where you can hear the air woosh when you apply brakes, the power. everything is fantastic. Best payware Loco I have, and I have bought a bunch of them .

I will certainly make a clone and give it a try. Thanks for the help!

When you do Edit config files, clone the asset (loco) (rename the username line to: @ "Clone UP EMD SD70 ACe") and experiment on the clone.

If the "Clone" loco works, then you can feel safe to edit the original loco's config file, and delete the experimental "Clone" loco.

Even when editing the original payware asset it is wise to copy and save the config file text to a "MS Notepad" file (which is in your PC accesories).

Thank you for referring me to AssetX, I will certainly give it a try.
