I know ! The Super Super SALE at Simulator Central is a fantastic blowout !
I bought 49 loco's for $ 54.70, that would have originally cost $ 218.60
I might just go in again for the China D38 Schnabel Car - Full Pack 2 Pack
Me being a cheapskate I bought the CN ES44DC, but I really should have gone all out and bought the BNSF/CN Pack instead, and gotten 3 locos !
I bought the (20 pack) NS Heritage Mega Pack, Wowser ! What a great deal !
The 6 pack Aerotrain is a total GAS !
PRR T1 (2 pack)
BlueComet (3 pack)
NS SD80MAC (3 pack)
CN ES44DC (get the BNSF/CN 3 Pack instead, better bang for the buck)
PRR Pack (4 pack)
NW-NS Pack (4 pack)
CSX Pack (3 pack)
CSX SD70MAC (3 pack)
As I never had payware before, I saved each loco, and all the locos depecdencies, and meticulously saved them all to a CDP's, and put each pack of locos along with their dependencies in separately custom named folders, and put them all on a DVD-RW disc, as a backup in case of catastrophic PC railure. My 4.37GB DVD-RW disc is almost 50% full, as I also saved my SP's patchs on that same disc !
I agree, RRSignal regarding the DVD-RWs. They are bad news when it comes to permanent backups. In part the problem is the way they work. They seem to be good for that one drive they've been written to and don't work if at all with any other DVD drive. This is an issue because DVD drives do fail.
Good advice for the serials; I do it too. Regarding DVDs, they are very complicated. You can't just "burn and forget." I recommended the TY because they are the closest thing (by far) to bulletproof media, but there are so many variables including the manufacturer of the DVD burner, the manufacturer of the media, whether the media or drive manufacturer used legit test data or used guesstimated data, counterfeit media, etc.
I promised myself I wouldn't...
got Aerotrain and TS2009 LOL (not bad for around $9)
Anyone got a clue how to get the TS2009 built in into TS12? I did the install content to TS12 during install but the installer said that TS12 was older than TS2009. D'oh!
I'm sure that someone here may be able to help you.
Editing config files is easy, and fun (that's what I keep telling myself).
