Trainz Junkie
Running TR2010EE. win 7 64bit
1. In routes/sessions, how can i toggle off automobile traffic. Seems to be a drain on video assets (until the new vid card arrives this week) Is there a switch in surveyor or driver options??
2. Tonite I was going to edit a loco file to change a horn sound. Went to Explorer/Programfiles x86/auran/ts2010/userdata/editing. This is where i have found all my assets in the past. Now there is nothing in there except some files that were open for edit in CMP. Where have all my files gone. OR am I looking in the wrong place?
Appreciate your help, TKS

Welcome to Trainz.

In order to edit any asset, you need to start Content Manager. Do ALL your editing from CM. Find the asset you want to change, right-click it, and choose Edit -> Open in Explorer.

This will give you an Explorer window view of your asset. While it is being edited, you can find it in Program files x86/auran/ts2010/userdata/editing but that is only where CM stores it while you are working on it

When you are finished editing, close the Explorer window and right-click the asset in CM again. Choose Edit -> Commit (or highlight it - make it turn blue - and press Control-M) Either way will do. When you commit an item, it will disappear from the \editing folder.

Come on back if you have any other questions.

EDIT: Just noticed you were on Win 7 x64. You may get an error trying to save content files (or commit them) if you are not running Content Manager as an Administrator. Trainz itself could also benefit from being run under Administer privileges. To to this, right-click the EXECUTABLE for Trainz and Content Manager and choose Properties. Check the box marked "Run as Administrator" and OK your way out.
