With the war starting not long ago all the nation's railroads saw the traffic and tonnage dramatically increase and the L&A was in the same boat. About 18 months earlier the L&A needed a heavier road switcher, and the company engineers came up with the design of this versatile locomotive and the company assigned it a classification of the N-2.

A few days before 800 N-2's tender was taken to the coaling and water towers to have them partially filled and returned to have both engine and tender attached. From there she was moved to the backshop ready track to be fired.

The Railfan got word that this morning the L&A would debut its newest locally built locomotive and putting her into operation, their articulated road switcher the 800 N-2 2-8-8-0.
Here she is coming out of the backshops ready track. The hostlers will be taking her to be coaled, watered and then attached to her first small train for a shakedown run.

Hello MickC57,
To get an image into the Forum;
Go into Trainz Portal, find your image click "Full Image", right click the image and choose "Copy Image Address".
Go to the Forum, look for where you want to place the image; look for the icons on the top line and pick the one that says "Insert Image" it's next to the smiley face.
Click on it and a box will appear, and paste into it and all should be well.
Cheers , evilcow

Evilcrow, I see what I was doing wrong now. Thanks for your help. It is super appreciated.

The Railfan could barely believe his eyes when he caught sight of the L&A's newest experimental locomotive the ST-2 steam turbine. You may remember the L&A has 2 steam turbines operating the companies crack passenger train, the Angel, running between Cincinnati and Charleston S.C. The new ST-2 is a lot shorter than the 2 ST-1's, but still to big for any turntable. The Railfan found out the ST-2 will be assigned to either fast reefer service or priority freight service.

That's super cool! And beautiful scenes.

Hi everyone,
I'm trying my hand at posting picture again. Here are 2 versions of the same shot. For the color one, I reduced the vibrancy a bit as I thought it would look a bit more realistic. Then I got the idea to do a little photo magic on it and tried to give it an aged look.

Thanks to Nick Ozorak for his incredible, and free, Norfolk & Western in the 1950s route, available on his website greattrainlayouts.com. I used a small bit of that layout for this pictures. Also, the locomotive and boxcar are both wonderful models from K&L Trains.

Hope you enjoy.
