Startup Session

I was just wondering is it possible that whenever I start creating a new session that it has the Driver Commands and Rules that I want instead of having to select them each time for every session I want to create ?

Of course you can, only I don't have ts12, so I can only tell you how it's done in ts2010.
In principle when you create a route in the first screen where you have to name it and choose a region you immediately fill in a name for the session to use as base as well. All further editing on the route you do via the session menu for that route where you choose the before named base session. This way you allways keep industry settings and whatever else is kept in the same base session file. Do remember that when you actually want to work on the route itself you need to change to a route layer if you open a route session combo this way.
Other sessions you can all 'derive' from this base session by adding stuf and saving it under a different meaningfull name.

In ts2010 this is easy to do, I presume ts12 won't be any different. :hehe:

Thanks, but is it also possible to use the session settings on more then 1 route without having to set it everytime ?

You could try a blank baseboard and add the rules etc. Save it. Then merge with any route you want.
Whether it will work I dont know.

No, I don't think so. In a session things are saved like industry settings, passenger station settings, and more. Those are all dependent on what's there in the underlying route, so, as said before, I think that's progammaticly an impossebility.

One more question for you Jan, when I do it that way how do I change to a route layer to get acces to a portal for settings in surveyor ? Because in a session it becomes locked for some reason and I think it's because of the fact that I'm in session layer or something

Hmm Portals behave a little different. In principle you drop all scenery, also industry enabled scenery (that includes passenger enabled stations), portals and track in a route layer. The properties of enabled industries you can set in either a route layer or a scenery layer, it doesn't matter the program 'knows' this is something for the session layer anyhow. With a Portal however, it's nescessairy to be in the same route layer you placed it in, to open its property window. Don't ask me why, but it's like this in ts2010 and in ts12 as well it seems. The Portal settings do end up in the session layer together with all others mentioned.
