Stacked Container Set-Up for Multiple Industry New

I'm using TTX Econo well cars <kuid2:164988:30066:2> with Multiple Industry New <kuid:-19:10165>.

When I click on the cars with the ?, I can pre-load them with two 40ft containers stacked, so I know the cars can accept the standard 40ft containers stacked. But I can't seem to configure Multiple Industry New to load them stacked. It just loads one per car.

Can Multiple Industry New generate stacked containers? Or am I just missing something in how I am setting it up?

Thanks!

I've never used the MIN industries, but I have used the ProtoLARS ones. IIRC, you can't just load "40ft containers": you need to configure it to load 2 products, Upper 40ft containers and lower 40ft containers.

I use MIN all the time for just your purpose. Make sure that there is 40ft container product for the bottom AND the top. Sounds to me like you have only a container for the bottom. Let me know how you make out.

NJCurmudgeon, I just downloaded one of the cars that you use and you might not be able to load two containers since it doesn't allow loading of a top and bottom load. I use JR's Husky's stacked wellcars weathered. You might want to try them.

Ok, I'm wrong again. You can do it. Make sure you have enough containers in the items section. It's limited to 256 so make sure you have at least 2 so you can load at least one car. The more containers you have the more cars you can load. Good luck.

Sorry for the delay in my reply...real life has a nasty habit of getting between me and the wonderful world of my Trainz...

In any event, my gratitude for the replies. It confirms my suspicion that I am doing something wrong. The description of a top and bottom container...why do I feel as if I have strayed into a bizarre fetish site...makes perfect sense. However, I am at a loss. I do not see such distinctions, either in the well car or the container asset. Nor on the download station. When I click on the well car with the ? I am able to "pre-load" it with stacked containers, so I presume I have the top and bottom container assets. Yet I can't seem to get the MIN to load stacked containers.

I am obviously missing something somewhere...or misunderstanding. Where should I be specing the two variants on containers?

Thanks again and my apologies for being a bit dim here...this is literally the 20th time I'm rebuilding this route, so I am desperately trying to get it right. I keep learning new stuff and decide to start over! I guess this is the fun of Trainz more than running them? :o

I might have confused you. With the wellcar that you're now using you have to make sure that you have enough containers in the queue section in order to be able to load them. Initially the number is 0 so there is nothing there to load. Maximum number of items is probably 256 but you need to have a supply of containers to load. I use JR's TTX 53 Husky Stack Weathered Wellcars. These cars require that you have items ready to load for bottom and the top. I think there is a tutorial on the forum just for the MIN. Maybe Philskene did it. Keep messing with the min and you'll figure it out. Once you do it's a snap to use everywhere. Let me know how you make out.

Hi Stouthm...I have the MIN set to the maximum number of containers and it still just loads one per car. Maybe it's the car I'm using? What's throwing me is that when I use the ? I can get them to double-stack. Unless that's different from loading through an asset like MIN?

I tried downloading Jointedrail's TTX 53 Husky Stack Weathered Wellcars but got a bunch of missing dependencies. I'm using JR's locos and they're great, but some of the freeware seems to be problematic.

First, hang in there, we'll get it done. In case you can't read the numbers in the picture they are: 256 for maximum and 25 for items. Do you have a number for items? If so, is it set to load and not unload? As for Jr's Wellcars you need to download all the dependencies for it to work. I think there's a section just for these cars.

Sorry for butting in from the side here, but in order to stack single containers, don't the railcars need attachment points in the appropriate places, i.e. one set on the floor of the car and another set above that at a height equal to one container? If the railcars don't have the higher attachment points, I would guess single containers will only sit on the floor. You can view where the load attachment points are by opening the railcar mesh in PEV Mesh Viewer.

I seem to recall seeing some pre-stacked container products on the DLS. These loads would look like stacked containers on railcars that only have attachment points on the floor and in animated industry objects. Could they be what you're looking for?

It's not a problem. We're all just trying to help each. Using the setting from the above screen I'm able to load two containers onto the wellcars that he's using.

I appreciate your help! Something still isn't right at this end...here's my MIN config screen:

And here's what loads:

I'm at a loss to understand why this ain't working?

I just added a second commodity to my queue and it still loaded two containers. I think jfriedrich has a point. Get rid of one container and see what happens. Keep us informed.

Hi Stothm...well, still no joy in my Trainzland. It's easier to show than explain. Here's my queue settings:

One thing I did notice was in my Processes, it said produce 2, so I though maybe that was why - it was just generating two containers and spreading them over the two cars I had. So I made it 25 instead. Still no change in behavior.

Next I looked at the Products tab and you can see it sets to 1 unit for that car. There is no option to change it.

Then, when I ran a test I got the dreaded bug:

Would this indicate something is wrong with MIN? Should I try reinstalling it?

I am beginning to believe that instead of calling this game Trainz, they should call it "Problemz" cause I feel like I spend more time trying to figure out why stuff doesn't work than playing with the trains themselves! :(

Well, it took me a while to be able to get back to playing with Trainz, but I "solved" the problem by using Jointed Rail's TTX cars. It took me a couple tries to get all the dependencies fixed, but once done it was easy to configure MIN and it's now loading double-stacked as I wanted. Thanks for the assistance, folks!
